2016 San Diego Heli Fun Fly - May 13th, 14th, 15th

The Palomar RC Flyers are excited to announce the 2016 San Diego Heli Fun Fly will be held on May 13, 14 and 15th in Fallbrook, CA.

We would like to thank Mikado USA and MSH USA for signing up as sponsors. They will be donating goods for the raffle.

We were told to expect Mikado team pilots Jesse Kavros and Jacob Gitin, as well as top pilot Tim Jones.

Check your calendars and clear your schedules to attend the best west coast heli event. The San Diego Heli Fun Fly is open to all heli pilots and all skill levels. If you've never attended a fun fly before make this one your first as there's plenty of space to fly and friends to meet. It's a pilot friendly weekend with good weather, good food and lots of fun.

Registration will be at the field, but drop us a note if you are planning to come so we can get a rough headcount. RSVP either on our Facebook page or to: xtremehelis@gmail.com.

Note that we are an AMA sanctioned field and as such will require all pilots to have a current AMA membership.

Few updates below:

We are working through our arrangements with our sponsors and the RSVP list from some top pilots, and just got word that Tim Jones is confirmed for the event.

The registration fee will be $20 and includes a raffle ticket. Also we are working out the list of activities, but they should include an auto-rotation contest, a spot landing contest, night flying, drag races, and hang time.

Also for those with RVs we do have on site parking available.

This event on the West Coast is going to be AMAZING!! Everyone ending Joe Nall just come on out west & fly some Heli's with really great San Diegans. Beautiful field...RV camping with family, friends & best of all Helis!! James & I are looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Only an AMA card is needed.
The field is in San Diego County and about 35 miles from the city of San Diego. Really nice field and a great funfly to attend. Last year I got to see a team Mikado pilot up close and it was insane!

Anyone wanting to camp... There are many places in San Diego County that will actually deliver the motor home or trailer rented to its destination. They will set it up, level it...you name it. Our field is so beautiful I highly recommend making it a camping weekend!! RV Rental San Diego #760-458-8510, is one that I have heard of. Start planning for this amazing Fun Fly in sunny Southern Cali!

ive camped there before , great place and the club members are top notch , one year we were setting up stuff for the event , we were heading to town to get food , the club pres. Bill fired up the grill and made dinner for us .....they have soooo much room there , go and you wont be disapointed !

will there be spotlight flying ? If youve ever see Tim Jones fly in a spotlight, its something else , your brain will catch up with what your eyes saw about a week later , CRAZY !
