I usually mount my 3 axis gyros on the side of the upper frame other side from the ele servo. My biggest problem with ZYX on a 250 is getting the tail just perfect. I gave up and went with MB clones.

User Nucotech said he got his to work with ZYX-S2 mounted label down with plugs facing forward. AFAIK ZYX-S2 can't be made to work mounted label down with plugs facing rearward.

I'm having this same problem.
I've been at this for two freakin' days, and I'm major P.O.'d. I had an S version working fine. I too the S out and put it in another 450 with a 2 blade FBL head. Works like a dream. I put my new S2 in my Hughes Little Bird with a 5 blade head. I had the servo and gyro wires dressed with wire ties, so this should have been a simple swap. Then I get to the software. More like crapware if you ask me. The program is a major step in the wrong freakin' direction. Why did they take out Piro Optimization? That one function is the best part of the earlier software. What really chaps my butt is I thought I had this thing all set to go, so I took a check flight. I spooled up but my pitch curve needed tweaking so I lowered the throttle and when I touched down the helo slowly rolled over to the left. WTF? So I get to checking and compensation is off in the wrong darned direction... and no matter what I do I cannot get this thing to work right.. I'm startin' to think I should have spent the extra 20 bucks and bought an S instead.. Now if you'll excuse me I have a nastygram to draft.... |

The only thing that worked for me was mounting the gyro exactly as the picture shows.

When I get Aileron to work, Elevator doesn't. If I get Elevator to work, Aileron doesn't. What is really strange is I can get cyclic and collective to function properly, but not attitude compensation, so I'm thinking this thing is defective. I also think that Tarot knew they had a bad batch and dumped them on the gray market. Why else would a newer version cost less than an older version? I'm sending this POS back for a refund. |

It sounds like there's a problem with your gyro, maybe it's a fake or something.. mine works great
I think the cost issue can cause from several things. 1. Old hardware gets rare and thus it cost more (same as PC hardware like memory modules and Motherboards). 2. Fakes would surely cost less than the real thing so you better find a reliable supplier (I mean if you didn't already buy from one). Hope you'll solve the problem.

I have it sorted out.
1. Use the TX Reverse function to get the monitor displays to follow stick movement. 2. If you cannot get roll and pitch compensation to work by reversing the servos IN THE SOFTWARE, you must swap channel 1 and channel 2 servos AT THE S2. In other words, unplug the servos and plug #1 in #2 and #2 into #1. |
