"Many pilots have called for a still lighter chassis. Even if it is significantly more complex, which was adopted after extensive successful tests in the series. To save scarce 200 g without sacrificing strength". |

Ok 200 grams is noteworthy, now someone has to weigh the difference to see if its factual

They need to shed the mass from the drivetrain.
That is the weight that really kills the 700's performance and flight time... 200 grams there is worth significantly more than 200 grams on the chassis. |

100% of the weight is in the drive train/head. No doubt about it... The head is overbuilt TOO much IMO...

It saves them money using 800 parts. That's the hype about designing the "beefiest 700 around ready for tomorrows power systems".

Look at the bright side, now everyone that already has a Logo 700 can spend $300 on a new set of frames

Yea 200g/7oz would be significant if its really so. That's allot of weight reduction in carbon but just a taste of what could be done with the whole thing. I do like the large presence this machine makes.

Is that what they cost? Really, so less carbon more money mmm id rather throw that towards my e 820 thankyou very much. Just shows again it doesnt pay for us to buy something that needs a spare heli in cost to get it flying like some off the shelve machines. My banshee was a bargain for sure, logo 400 size on 14 s and 713 blades now beat that! My subconscious doesnt wanna play along anymore.

Are mikado discontinuing the 1.6mm frames? No way I'm putting 1mm frames on mine. That's for 450 size helis.

That's good to know. Anyways I'm flying mine with 753 blades now so weight is not an issue.

Having an xxtreme and knowing what I want from a 700, I wouldn't touch the 700 mik with a 10 ft pole. I bought a TT e700 because I think its everything the logo 600 was for the 600 size (weight wise) in a 700 size package. I think the logo 700 is a great helicopter if you throw enough watts at it or bigger blades but at that point a Goblin 770 may be a better option.

New Frames from Mikado
Quote:
TBH how much weight can one save by reducing frame thickness by 0.6mm of CF. I was hoping for a plastic fantastic version of L700. Bring it on Mikado.

I'll just say this... The Xx 700 is NOT a finished product. Ralf plans of developing it as he has the 600 to 6003d to 600sx.
It is just going to get better and sooner rather than later guys...
