I'm looking forward to some reviews of the zoom too. I've seen the movies, ads and everything else, but would like to hear of some real world testing. So far its the front runner for my winter project, but we'll see how its doing by fall. Hopefully any faults will have come out by then.

I'd like to see it in the hands of a capable 3D pilot. I mean if you're going to try and sell something as the 'best' 3D machine, at least 3D the damn thing in your promo video! What, no PILOTS in whatever country they are coming out of? I'll buy one after Larson gets a hold of it for a couple of weeks and we check it out.

Welp last night I felw the ZOOM 400. WOWEE!!!!!!! I finally found what I have been looking for !!!!!. This thing is so incredibly cool. Darral I found something that I don't have to modify :-)

It came out of the box 90% assembled with a speed 400 can motor mounted already. all I did was install 3 HS-55's on the pitch-elevator/aileron and 1 HS-50 glued right to the vertical tail fin for the shortest possible tail pitch rod. I used an Ikarus 30 amp brushed speed control I had lying around, a GY240 and a Berg5 DSP G2 and a Model Avionics Whip antenna. and Thunder Tech 1500 li-po cell

This bird is SOOOOOOOO SOOOOOOOO stable !!! It was at least as stable as my Hawk !!!!. mostly because of the flybar weights. 2 clicks of forward elevator and 3 clicks of right Cyclic and the thig hovers hands off !!!. It flew sooo well I can't stop smiling as I write this :-) :-) :-).
The swashplate control is surprisngly accurate !!

The stock 400 motor works really well for "normal" flying and slight areobatics. The only thing I am going to change in a couple of weeks is go to 3D style tail fins for a faster piro, and a Himax 4200 Brushless motor, Castle Creations Phoenix 25 and motor heatsink. That is all that needs to happen,,,,, well maybe a set of carbon blades.....

I painted this thing in dayglow colors and is soo easy to see in the sun. Cannopy and tail fins and paddles are neon orange, boom braces, main blades and tail blades I misted with neon green.

I flew it last night and it was about 5-10 MPH wind gusts... it was alittle tricky but It flew well. this morning the first thing on my mind was to get my ass out of bed at 5:30a.m. take a shower, and ran into "my hobby shop" room grabbed the zoom and went out doors... there was no wind this morning and the Zoom was AWESOME!!!! This the funnest time I have had since I got into heli's.

Darral if you want a micro that you will be impressed with and want to fly like like ANY of your other ships.... this is the one to get. I have a feeling you will be dissapointed with the Hummer.......

I have a bad feeling that the Hornet is going to have to be regulary dusted off from neglect........

Personally I just have not told my lady about the zoom yet.. hehe I think she just thinks it's my hornet with a colorful painjob... Shhh... :-)

This sounds like the method I used to do on the V1 tail, and the tail held crap then.

Going to try it with the nut on the end then, use some new blue loctite on the hub and nut.

As you said I can just have a look to see if it's spinning around by feeling.

I guess this is why they give lots of thread on the tail shaft.

Thanks.
If you can turn spindle In both directions and the belt slips you are good to go.

The tail is great for me
