Now that is a radio, only thing that worries me as the Android stuff, not very stable on pads and phones, hopefully JR can make it stable.

I'm sure android is only controlling the interface not flight controls. Also a clean version of 4.3 not the bloated stuff you see on phones.

I got to see this radio and hold it in my hands yesterday.

The gimbals are the smoothest I have ever felt. They are supported in an internal metal frame which is very stiff.

I intend to get one of these the moment they are available!

Default new JR 28x radio

Only asking for curiosity - in what type of application would one need 28 channels? The radio seems quite nice, just wondering if anyone would ever come anywhere close to using all the available channels.

Jet and scale guys, easily gets to 18+ channels, only thing I am curious about is, where are all the controls for 28 channels, unless they are mixed internally to other controls.

Big plane guys use a channel per servo - for balancing (new buzzword). Additionally, channels can be used as intermediate summing junctions for programmable mixes. Futaba calls these virtual channels. In JR they are just channels that may not have a physical control attached but still have mixer inputs. A single control, say aileron, can control simultaneously 4,6,8 servos each with it's own balance curve to keep them from fighting each other and drawing a lot of current. The old Hitec center and two endpoints is not adequate for this function.

We have not seen the s/w spec. but undoubtedly XBus will have all 28 channels available.

A shame it looks like a dull Futaba radio where the entire XG series have a nice modern design...

Looks just like a Futaba 14SG or 18MZ. Imitation is the ... But I really like the all metal control stick assemblies ! Metal is good. Plastic is bad.

Lets start off with a NOOB question. Will it work out of the box with Spectrum receivers? Also wondering on potential price.

I agree with ah clem. It's smoother than my 12X. Here's what's on the inside.
