A new battery and / or a new tail motor can do miracles

Would playing with the tail rotor pitch have any effect? Maybe the "lazy" tail is caused by the tail motor being too slow, not enough torque, or not enough pitch to compensate for the higher headspeed from the brushless main?

The more I read about the main brushless conversions, the more I just want to send mine in and have a double BL conversion done

I just got done putting a conversion together for myself with a soon to be released V2 mild motor. I have a 125mm solid tail boom, upgraded tail motor wire and a Lynx 42mm prop. The tail is dead solid even in hard pitch pumps. I did have a bit of a tail problem when I first put it together but I believe that was just a vib problem I needed to sort out . I'm really happy the way it turned out.

Default blow out

I am also having tail issues with the BL upgrade. It is mostly tail blow out even on mild pitch increase.

what is weird is that i have 2 nanos, both with BL upgrades.

the first one works flawlessly. maybe 15 flights on the BL motor.

the second one is brand new out of the box, (flew good on quick test) threw on a microheli head package, bl motor, and lynx 42mm tail blade (swapped to stock to no avail). the second one is WAY more powerful than the first, however it suffers from pretty bad tail blow out making it impossible to fly consistently.

tried both new 45c eflite lipos and brand new lectron 180mah 45cs with same results..

using same settings on the dx6i, am i missing something?

That is more than likely a vibration problem.

Same issue here for hard indoor 3D. I swapped one of my spare blade Nano QX blades onto the tail and re-tweaked the blade pitch enough to compensate with 100% throttle curve just be sure to watch the pitch as the tail motor temps go up accordingly.

I'm currently running stock BL NCPX & packs plus some Lectron 160mAh 45C's but plan to try the oversky 200's and a mild HP03SPE once the packs are back in stock at asteroid designs.

So far weight seems to be the NCPX's biggest enemy for me since I only want the heli for indoor 3D I think lighter and smaller is ideal.

Default Brushless Nano tail blowout

I also had tail problems with my factory brushless conversion for my Nano.
Kept blowing out.
I Had the esc held to the board with small rubber bands and the tail would constantly blow out.I removed the rubber bands and now the esc just hangs on its wires. Not fixed to anything.
I dont know why but it fixed my Nano tail problems.Vibes?:
