I hope Esprit or even Jeti.cz can guide you through the phone... There must be a way to do this without sending the unit me thinks

Quick update.
After a few emails ack and forth with Jeti they believe the SD card interface is at fault and so the TX cannot function. It is on its way back to Esprit for repair now.
An unfortunate turn of events however better to have it happen while sitting n my desk that flying something.

Repair or replacement?

In the meantime, have you re-read the user manual till you know most passages by heart?

Your situation sucks, but you'll get over it... The TX is great when it works. Lots of thought has gone into the UI and it shows.

I can pretty much program anything I want to without thinking now...

Yet to be seen in regards to what will happen once its back.

I have read the manual but it has been hard reading and having to stop myself picking up the TX to give something a go. I know I will enjoy it, just as I will enjoy finally mounting the Mezon ECSs and RSAT2s in my Goblins.

Received my replacement DS-16 today which is already updated to the latest firmware so I don't have to worry about bricking it again until the next firmware release.

Did you figure out if connecting it to the Mac did any damage to the file system on the SD card? (causing further issues)

I just connected my DS-16 to my Macbook running Parallels and Windows XP - (and passed the usb through to the windows virtual machine) and it could see it fine to transfer new audio files etc - but the Mac still created those hidden ".dot" folders (.trashes .spotlight etc) - so the question is - leave them on? (or delete them on a normal pc and dont connect to the Mac)

(just trying to see if Jeti recommends not connecting it to a Mac - or its ok

Personally, I gave up on using my Mac for this too many steps involved.

I first use an old portable PC that one of my kids discarded when they switched to Mac and I finally bought a tablet PC because it is easier to bring to the field when needed and less clutter on the work bench.

Not a solution, I know but an easier work around, as much as I love my Mac, as long as developers don't see the need to make compatible software, this is easier.

What problems did you have connecting to mac?

The 'invisible' files & folders it creates are not an issue - you can leave them.

If you're connecting just to access the DS-16's memory card, a mac or a pc won't make a difference.

The PC side has the added benefit of using the TX as a USB-connectred joystick should you wish.

That's about it really.

They are for sound files

No, they're not.

If you have an issue with audio files, it's not because of the hidden files.

Those are only there to assist the mac OS in knowing directory structure, window size, and such inconsequential info...

Well your Mac is different from mine and the one of quite a few others who were getting the
"Invalid RIFF ID'" message with the sounds created from a Mac.

If you have a solution other than mine (using a PC), I would be glad to know about it.

I'll check that out for you. Did you use Ivona to create the sounds? Or did you use some software on the Mac end?

I record the Ivona voice with the audacity program as per

http://www.mfv-marbach.ch/index.php/...s-16-erstellen

I have no problem with updates on Mac but if I load these saved sound files directly from my Mac to the Tx then I get the Invalid. Same files saved but transferred on a USB and loaded to Tx through a PC no problems.
