Default Measuring servos' current?

I know the Eagletree is designed to plug in to the high current area and record motor current etc, but would it make sense to connect it "downstream" of the BEC, i.e between the BEC and the receiver (= FBL unit) to record the amps passing through the low power section of the electronics? This would be useful to discover the current demand of the servos and hence selecting a sufficiently rated BEC.

This question might be pointless if there is a separate sensor designed to measure servo current - it's a while since I looked at this system.

Looking further see there is such a sensor. It is rated 5A max continuous, and would be OK to connect to a single servo in my setup, but probably not OK for the whole low voltage circuit.
So I'm still interested in the possibility to connect the high power part of the Eagletree to the low voltage part of the electronics. Would it still function, and record current as if it was recording the motor current?
