Do I need to use a switch for the gryphon quaser?

I'm running the gryphon quaser in 6s on my 12s system. I'm new to big helis and this is my first big build and I don't want to fry anything. I have a yge 90hv esc, and savox hv servos that I'm going to be running at 7.4v and an ikon flybarless unit. My question is. Do I need a switch to use this bec? I have not programmed anything yet because I am not 100% sure that I will not fry anything.

No you don't :-)

Just solder power wires direct into battery plugs, and it will power up instantly :-)

I do this on all my helicopters. And it works great. :-)

Ok cool thanks. Do you know anything about the yge 90hv? I saw a video stating that they recommend programming with a 6s battery instead of a 12s. If you do know, how safe is programming it with a 12s pack seeing as I already wired it up to the bec and have two connectors on it for the 12s system?

You can use 12s for setup. But remove pinion, or blades first.

I've personally always set my lvc, low voltage cut to 10volt, then I can use a 3s lipo for setup.
This way motor doesn't have power to hurt anything.

But again, if you will use higher voltage, remove pinion, blades, or one of the 3 motor wires.
