Well I just had a bad crash today, and now I have to buy new frames how much longer before yours will be available, you think?

I really hope I can get the kit together in a couple of weeks. I still need to work a hardware list and write up instructions of some sort.

Knightflyer is a lot faster at building these things then I am! LOL

The frame came out to 12.8 oz. New bearing blocks are in order for this revision so that is next up on the machining list.

Then a set of equipment trays.

OK guys the final (I hope) frame mods have been completed. I did a test fitting tonight and here is what it will look like.

It will come with two radio/equipment trays and the frame has three locations available for the trays. The set will also include a wider battery tray, aluminum servo spacers for the elevator and be ready for a third bearing... you will have your stock bearing holders left over so just use on of those. I will also include all new hardware for the build so you can toss those nasty looking button head cap screws.

The rudder servo can be mounted as I have shown in the pictures directly to the frame or you can use the stock spacer and mount it on the other side. The elevator servo will mount to either side.

I am hoping to have everything tested and ready to go in a couple of weeks. This really has been a challanging build but it is almost ready!

First small run of the final frame set. Waiting on some more hardware to arrive before sending one to Knight for a test.

I have not been able to source the AR pin I needed for the kit so I decided to chuck up some stainless steel in the mill and use it like a lathe!

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SolvZ6WP9uo&feature=share&list=UUlMMLLTMr0 tHqu9A_i7mVzg[/ame]

First test pins cam in .05mm or .0015" to small but work great. That is a .00075" adjustment I need to make! LOL

Here are a couple of pictures of the test parts... The code has been refined to remove those unnecessary moves. They still need to be finished by hand on the manual lathe but until I can buy them in bulk I will just make them.

Optimized the pin cutting, one more thing off the list.

Hi guys,

I will be sending Knight a final kit version tomorrow. If all goes as planned I will start sending out kits late next week. I will post pricing to the web site soon.

Here are some preliminary assembly instruction drawing I have been working on.

I can tell you the kit will contain 19 individually machined parts and 82 socket cap screws. So much for keeping this simple!

Hi Nightflyr,

Did you consider using CF main frame reinforced with KEVLAR?

Something like this: http://images.rcuniverse.com/forum/u...77/ay73875.jpg

"high tensile strength-to-weight ratio; by this measure it is 5 times stronger than steel on an equal weight basis."

Just the idea...

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._m2_1mtr_.html

I ask you obviously because you build extremely large birds.

Kind regards
