Bob Finless, or anyone else that might know, I am on a dial-up connection. Would it be possible for me to purchase all these videos on a DVD or CD? I just bought my Align 600N and am a newbie. I'd love to watch the videos, but at this rate, it's going to take me sometime into next year to download all of them!

I could probably throw them on a DVD for you (or CD, if you prefer the WMV files) for the cost of the disc and shipping. If you don't get any better offers, PM me.

I am OK with anyone putting the vids on a CD / DVD to help those with dial up AS LONG as they make no profit.

I wouldn't dream of it. I feel like I'm in debt to the folks here for all the assistance over the last several months, so profiting from it would be *so* wrong. I should have thought to check with you first, though. My apologies.

No reason to apologize man... Your post was right on. I just responded to let others know the rules as I have in the past had serious problems with people selling my stuff for profit on Ebay.

See my reply to your same question in the T-Rex 600 thread. Hint: Look at the first post of the thread.

I'm getting a super nitro pro soon, and these vids are great. As usual.

Thanks Bob,

P.S. I noticed your screw up on the tail assembly where you had the pitch slider control arm upside down

Just a random thought and i'm sure it been thought of. Maybe have the option Torrent file share on video's ? Least people like me could try and give back. Could take load off server...could even improve some peoples download speed. just a thought.

Torrent apps are kind of a PITA to set up for non-geeks, since you have to open a port on your router to get the most efficiency.

Also PLEASE DO NOT rip my vids and torrent them! I prefer them to be here on HF so others come here and participate in the forum! Having them available elsewhere defeats that idea. Thank you!

I think SadSack was talking about HeliFreak itself providing a torrent option. That's how I interpreted it anyway. Granted, it would mean that there would be outside seeds, but it's been done before with the DVD images.

Honestly that was not my intention at all Bandwith costs. Later after i posted that i did think would be easy to move onto private tracker and HF would lose money...Doh

Sorry for misunderstanding

Talking

So...I bought a 600n Pro off ebay for $305. The seller said the heli was new in box, but also that it was an opened box and the manual was missing. Plus, some of the bags had been opened and the kit "may have unknown missing pieces". Well, the manual was indeed missing, but no parts were missing! Also, the kit came with an extra 600NB1 bag!!! (600NB1 is bearing blocks, tail output, radio tray, and all frame hardware)

Since there is no manual, I am going to attempt this build using only bob's jazzy videos. I'll take pics and post a video once it's done. ...I know I can download a manual here, but this sounds more fun.

Default tank dry

Hello Finless,

I wanted to ask you, your preference for emptying the tank:
as there are several opinions, do you usually :
- hover and wait until tank dry and land in auto?
- do you land and let the tank run dry?
- do you land put the throttle cut and refill immediately with fuel?

after each day of flying, to you refill your tank and dran it out or do you simply let it run to take out all fuel?

thank you Bob.
regards,
Arnaud

I've stopped running the engine dry at the end of the day because my rear bearing didn't seem to last very long. Now at the end of the day, I just shut down the throttle, clamp the line, and then spin the engine with the starter but without glow power to push any gases out. The theory is that the oil left behind will act as after-run oil. I think if you run it dry, the oil gets burned off too. Only time will tell whether the theory holds.

Question

This will be my first Nitro heli.

I'm watching the videos. I am intimiated by the motor assembly since I don't yet fully understand how the motor works and how the clutch and carburetor really work together (doing some internet research).

But I thought there was more to putting the motor together and installing it in the heli. I remeber catching some posts before I ever bought a nitro kit about having some kind of shaft or clutch all aligned properly, but in the videos there really doesn't seem to be any kind of "alignment" procedure or step for the motor. Is that correct?

I did see the video about the one-way bearing that seemed to preclude the alignment step I am thinking about. I just want to confirm and ask questions before I start building anything.

Thanks
