Yea your right David.... it's just not feasible with gas being as high as it is today. Looks like I will use my flier miles and get a plane ticket. I will make that purchase tonight. Big thanks to wayne for shelter during the event.

All that's left is figuring out how to get two 50 size birds and one 450 size up there..... I can ship them if I must.

You can ship them to the AMA and pick them up there. As for the return shipping, I am not sure if AMA will do that. You can call and ask. I know there is a shipping place that is close to the Signature Inn, They handle, UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.

You can ship 'em to me and I'll bring 'em to you. Maybe you could just pick two to send.

40 minutes at 80 mph.

It's about 1:30 - 1:40 from Indpls International to the AMA field depending on traffic etc. Maybe a little less at WayneBrown pace.
Bob & I drove it last year but I was still on vacation so I wasn't watching the clock.

Jeremy, if you can get your birds to Fredericksburg, I can haul 'em in the motorhome.. Got plenty of room in the basement...

You might also see what tickets into Dayton cost. About the same time driving from Dayton to Indy as from Cincy to Indy.

You won't have to look far for help.

I'm pre-registered and have a room reserved so I'm ready to go. I read on the IRCHA web site that there will be $40,000.00 worth of prizes given away over the meet WOW.

What day do they do the big give-away? I believe it was Sunday last year.

Since there is so much to give away, this year they will be giving stuff away during the day using your Pilot #

The main giveaway is still going to be Sat after dinner

Last year it went til after dark and into the night flight time slot....thats why they changed it for this year

It's incredible the generosity of the vendors...never seen anything like it

The Grand Prize has not been announced yet.

We are adding another new competition with event sponsors. IRCHA and the XFC are proud to announce the IRCHA Amateurs National competition (I.A.N.). A competition for non-sponsored pilots that want to be somebody ;-) ! This event will be held on Friday with the final round on Saturday at the 2008 IRCHA Jamboree. The winner will receive a spot in the 2009 XFC as well as a sponsorship with Empire Hobby. Please see the attached registration and rules forms for further information. We look forward to meeting you at the 2008 IRCHA Jamboree!

You can complete and submit the registration electronically .

To view these documents Adobe Reader 7 or later is required. You can download Reader 9 http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.

Please download the registration form and rules document https://secure.empirerc.com/IAN_PKG.pdf.

It is more than just a fly in! Seminars, events, flying and a great time !

I can't understand you guys complaining about $300-$400 of fuel to go to IRCHA. Our diesel cost round trip with the camper is $1200 if the prices don't go up between now and then. Even at those prices we plan to have some great deals for the jamboree. Hope to see everyone there. It's been a long time since we've seen alot of our friends.

Hm. The main page ( http://ircha.org ) has a headline saying 'Visit the Jamboree page for the latest information on the 2008 IRCHA Jamboree', that, when clicked, simply says the same thing. And e-mails go unanswered. So I'll try asking here.

I have two questions:
1) what is the schedule?
2) if I want to attend, but not fly, do I still need to register and pay the fee?

I was having problems with the website yesterday. Would go to it. Virus program would give unsafe warnings. Not sure what that was about. But I could not navigate the website either. Could not get any of the buttons to work and go to the pages.

As for the schedule. It is posted at the Jamboree each day what the events are for the day. Events as in seminars, drag races, auto contests, scale contest, etc.

You do not have to register to be a spectator.
Friday and Saturday are the two best days to attend. With Saturday being the best day of all.

Question

When you have pre-registered on line do you receive something from IRCHA it self? I got the the Kagi confirmation but haven't heard from IRCHA yet.
