Default Am I Doing Something Wrong?

Got my first 700 this spring. Align 700E DFC Pro. I was aware of the problems guys have had and been watching for them. Nada. Guys I fly with have break-in periods where they re-tighten and re-align on their other brands. I haven't touched a thing since I built it. I'm kinda bored with this thing, I take it out and fly and then pack it away until next time.

Seriously though, this thing has been great. Went together like a dream. Flew great right from the maiden. And I'm getting 7 min flights on 12S 4500s at 1900 RPM.

I know there are Align haters out there and look down the boom of their Logo/Gaui/Synergy/Goblin at us. Those helis have had their own issues, but quality for your dollar is tough to beat Align.

Well, if you get bored, then try flying lower and faster!

Nothing wrong, buddy. I already have over 100 flights on mine and not a problem. I go to the field, get that big boy airborne and have a blast. When I was a member at a local club, the regulars spent hours "fine tuning" their expensive birds. I called them the "deck flyers" because they hovered and went back to the deck to "adjust" stuff. My fleet was Align helis, and I never had to do anything to them. The 700 is a great machine. Period.

I know exactly what you mean by deck flyers. There isn't many of us that fly together so it isn't too bad when one guy is using up the flight line tuning.

At 1900 head speed you won't have any issues. Crank it up to 2150 and you might realize you have the dreaded tail hum.

What sort of flying do you do sir? Aerobatic, Soft 3D of Hard 3D?
I would increase the head speed to at least 2150 and watch it come alive if not go higher.

Why would I change it if I am happy already? I don't understand the insistence that I do things your way. Your heli, your config. My heli, my config. I'm a big air flyer. More head speed gains me nothing but putting more strain on things.

Ok I thought the reason for you starting this thread was because you were bored of your heli and looking for a bit more excitement.
If it fly's just the way you like it then leave it as is.

No need to run higher head speed anyway ......Nick Maxwell files at 1950 don't see many better

the currant 700dfc with the 850 motor and 160 ecs with good packs at 2100 will fly about 4 mins now that is not all out deck work the whole time but a great xfc flight that is how we base our setups and power system
