Default Greasing the swash

Guys and gals...

I have a simple question u want to grease my swash... I have it out after an unplanned meeting with terrafirma and thought i would grease it..

Suggestions on grease and application would be great.... I was just going to use tri flow grease on it as I use tri flow oil on the main shaft...

Thanks

I use a drop of scorpion motor oil about every 50 flights or so.

The swash plate bearing shouldn't need extra lubrication at all.

TriFlow liquid on the ball.

Same, or light oil, or the aforementioned Scorpion oil for the radial bearing.

Cool thanks... I assume when I oil the main shaft it will be oiling it anyway... Cool I'll just add an extra drop to the swash ball...

Thanks

As long as it is lubricated and the lubricant used does not attract dirt/dust, you will be fine.

any dirt or dust that comes into play will be a bigger problem on the swash ball

IMHO, the ball doesn't require lubrication either because it moves on a plastic material.

Dry lube only for me, oil and grease will become contaminated with dirt, dust, pollen. Etc .

TriFlow liquid will not attract dirt/dust.

The ball should be lubricated-it is a steel ball sliding up and down a steel shaft.

I have never had an issue with a properly lubricated swash ball in 38 years of flying these things. I have seen a few dry (not lubricated ones) lock up, though.
