I really like the idea of this, saves wedging the usual screwdriver in between the boom clamps.

Little things like this, and the attention to detail that Kasama incorparates is what makes these machines such a pleasure to build and work on.

Awesome build thread John. Thanks for making the effort.

With the tail rotor being matched and checked, does it still need to be pulled apart, checked and reassembled with loctite, or is it pre assembled ready to go?

No I'd leave it assembled - it shouldn't need Loctite anyway because of the Nyloc nuts - Kasama started putting Loctite on after years of production of the tail after a couple of reports of grips coming off - this was probably due to uneven bases of the M3 locknuts acting as an impact driver. The nuts now are all machined flat and matched to the rotor hub.

On mine i will use Castle ice2 120A and Scorpion 4035-530.
I tried to set up my ESC in the castle link program (governor) giving main gear 104 and pinion 11 teeth and i saw that on 94.3% or ESC power i get 2200 RPM.
How you can get that 2400 RPM? Unless you will run it without governor. Is that right?

Only way is to use a different ESC - you are stuck with the 9.45:1 ratio - a Jive will give these figures!

Throttle 55%: 2078
Throttle 60%: 2186
Throttle 63%: 2251
Throttle 67%: 2337
Throttle 70%: 2402
Throttle 73%: 2467
Throttle 76%: 2532
Throttle 80%: 2618

I'd certainly try out your CC and see if you like it - the Dune, like all other Kasama helis, is very effiicient and doesn't need blindingly high HS. I don't understand why the different ESC give such different results

Loving the tell-tale bath robe sleeve on the motor video.

Glad it's not just me at all hours. Was out in the man shed at 5am yesterday morning, sometimes it's the only time I can have peace.

I saw the Kasama Dune flying today at our local club, thanks John.My non technical comments are,It looks great in the air, that canopy is growing on me.Its so damn quiet,Its the quietest 600 size heli Ive heard. It also had some legs when needed and that was at a fairly low HS.
