Default Brand New ARF having tail rotor problem

Hello

Just got my gyro (futaba GY401) installed and I noticed my tail rotor blades spinning with the thinner side cutting into the air. So my problem is, is my tail rotor blades on wrong or is my tail rotor spinning the wrong way. My main rotor is spinning clockwise when viewed from the top and my tail rotor is spinning clockwise when viewed from the right side.

Can someone tell me which way the tail rotor is supposed to be rotating?

Thanks
Ron

The tail rotor should turn clockwise, when viewed from the left side of the machine.

If it is backwards, the belt is twisted the wrong way.

You may have done what I did when I re-assembled the rotor head and main gear. I flipped the belt. The tail blades, spin so the front goes up into the main blade wash. So when looking at the side of the helicopter where the tail rotor shaft is pointing at you, right hand side as you sit in the helicopter. The blade in front of the tail rotor shaft, the leading edge should be pointed up. This is the blade between the tail rotor shaft and the horizontal stab where the boom supports mount.

P.S. I am sort of alive out here. I am out of batteries now. My last 2200 died. It lost a cell and so I need to order another dozen.

Thanks a million, I just took the tail rotor off and got the belt flat and true with no twists. Which only took a quarter turn to the left (viewing from the back) I was hoping it was turned that quarter turn the wrong way and it seems that is what the problem was. It needs to be turned a quarter a turn to the left from flat and true. So basically it was a half a turn off.

Thanks for the info

Ron

It is not hard to do. I have done lots and lots of belt flips. I still get it wrong from time to time.

Glad it was an easy fix.

I need something else cleared up, this is my first arf heli so this gyro stuff is new to me. I'm using the futaba gy401 gyro. When do you center the servo horn on the rudder servo? Hook it right to channel 4 on the receiver with no gyro and get it at 90 degrees or thru the gyro and with the gyro set in normal flight mode?
