I have been waiting for a kit to be available from astroid. I'm dying to try it out.

For anyone who is also achieving this skill level on the same mild setup , I have a couple of questions.... In order to achieve this flip rate , what DR do you have in Ail/Elev? (I have 75%) What Pitch travel to you use? (I am using +-75%) I am getting better and tighter at my aileron flips , but no where near as good with elevator flips as seen in this video. I guess its just practice, but want to make sure Im on the right track with these settings.. Cheers.....

I'm intrigued by the the Dylwad motor
." Lower KV but more torque having bigger magnets and wound single strand wire" If anyone knows instructions on how to make this and where to buy the bits it would be a great learning exercise to make one. They are unavailable on his website unfortunately. Cheers...

Keep in mind that if you get the V2 motor, you will have to get a spacer/adapter so it will fit in the frame. You may also have to move the servo mounts out a bit allowing the motor to clear the back of the pitch and aileron servos.

Could any of you super experienced guys write a how-to thread on doing a brushless mod on some of these motors with details on which motors, which ESC's, flashing if necessary, and transmitter settings?
You would be the HERO to those that are not as familiar or experienced! |
