Such a nice machine , Getting closer
The build so far.....
I have a set of new 8231 JR's great servos as I have used them in my AP ships for years with no problems, no 3D here just typical FAI stuff obviously, will these servos stand up ok? The specs are good, also "ultra precision", is this the true case? Last edited by Brett Horton; 12-15-2007 at 07:48 PM.. Reason: Update |

Servos...I used the JR DS8231s in my Caliber also, and they are working very well. Supposedly they have twice the position steps of typical servos at 5900. I use XPS for my radio system, which at 16bit is over 65,000 steps. I had been flying 9252s in my X-Spec, and the 8231s do feel better...but I don't know how much of that is the Caliber 90 itself or the servos.
Paddles...Fun Tech paddles seem to be the norm, if you can get them. I never got responses from OMI. I used the stock paddles off my Hirobo X-Spec for the Caliber. I also used both weights, plus MA clamp on weights. Looks like a beauty...keep us posted. |

Brett,
This place claims they are the exclusive USA importer for Fun Tech now. http://www.hotheli.com/index.php?main_page=index I talked to James at OMI a month ago and he said he knew nothing about them being exclusive. James was bringing in Staysee fuses, Funtech mufflers, Funtech paddles, Funtech blades directly from the Sensui's in Japan. Give James a call at OMI, he probably has a couple sets of paddles laying around. David |

Gordie, question for ya
Well I am done 100% ready to fly the Sylphide!!!
Gordie, I am running CY Radix 710's (FAI) I heard you run these as well. The blade bolts are 5mm on the sylphide, the holes on the blades are 5mm but unbushed, is this ok? |
