Well, it's your money but maybe you should just concentrate on learning all about the 700e you've got first. Eg. FBL setup, mechanical setup etc before introducing another component(Engine tuning) to deal with at this very early stage of your heli career. |

Nitro's are a little more complicated than electrics. Plus fuel costs every flight. Just get yourself few sets of batteries. I like taking a brief break every few minutes so electric perfect for me. Might want to research the pro's and con's.
One thing that sucks about nitro sometimes... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3twcWwmFjPA[/ame]

Personally, the nitros sound more like a toy to me because of the model engine noise. |

I've owned and run both 700E and 700N. Both were fbl. At 1950, which is pretty much what you get with nitro, I got seven minutes on either. Of course with e-power you have the option to crank it up, which is what most people do. That's how you end up with four minute flights. In my experience, cost of ownership is also much less expensive with e-power.

I say again, try 5 or 6 min on your timer and see what you put back in. For hovering and slow forward flight I doubt you will be putting in more than 70% at 6 min

An AC6 outputting at 5A x 25V is only 125w and it will take at least 45 min to charge each pack and you will be running the poor thing ragged, I'm sure this is why it failed on you. My set up is cheap but does me well. Power supply 23A x 14V: $70 Charger Turnigy Mega 400w: $60 parallel charging board: $15 I can charge both flight packs together within an hour without pushing this set up too hard.

A 50 watt charger like that will barely pull 2 amps on a 6s pack, which is nearly 2 and a half hours per pack, or 5 hours to get one flight pack charged for your 700... That could explain the 4 minute flight times, I doubt you are getting full charges. (assuming this to be your charger)
That is defo something you need to upgrade to make your ability to fly a realistic proposition.

Yep. totally agree with the other two posts above Sladex. Imo, charging setup is equally important as the heli, as without a good one, you wont be flying much anyway
This is a part of the hobby that many overlook when moving up heli size quickly. When moving up from my 450, a member at my 'field' said 'don't get a bigger heli unless you upgrade your charging setup(only had a 6amp ac/dc). Get something that will be good enough even if you decide to go 700 size or even 14S. Otherwise, it's a sure fire way to get frustrated' Wise words. I ended up getting a Hyperion 720i super duo and a Efuel 60amp X variable 24V power supply. I can charge 2 packs in around 30-45mins depending on C rating, More than enough power for my applications. I think you need to head down to the LHS and spend your money on a new charging setup before giving up on e power. If you do this you'll enjoy your 700 much, much more |

You can make a great power supply for under 50 bucks using new parts. If you scrounge server PSs it can be almost free. And educational...

I've got 2 of these wired in series which cost me about 30 bucks including shipping. There is a thread on RC groups about modifying these for the cost of a bit of wire and a couple of banana plugs here and a specific thread for the DL380 PS here
One of those, with 10 minutes worth of soldering, can give you a 575w 47amp power supply.

My setup is 2x FMA PL8's and a Meanwell RSP 1500-24. It's all the power I'll ever need. And with the FMA fused power boards it is probably the safest setup available. For example, a short involving the charger is not possible. It'll just beep and say "nice try dumbass", or something like that.

http://readyheli.com/Voltz-101K-iCha...r_p_37877.html http://readyheli.com/S1200-Chargery-...A_p_40161.html I use these two and love them, routinely charge two 5300 6s packs on the charger and 3 2200 3s on a second charger at the same time. I know you're fairly new so not sure if I suggest para charging but with a 12s setup you can save so much time. If just doing the 6s packs two at a time you can probably go lesser on the power supply like this model. http://readyheli.com/S600-Chargery-P...-_p_40652.html |

You bought a 'big boy' helicopter.. Get yourself a 'big boy charger'. I wouldn't spend 150 dollars for a 300W iCharger.. That's crazy.. Take a look at the Powerlab 6 (or 8).. The Powerlab 6 will put out close to 1000watts with a 24v power supply.. If you get it from EPBuddy, you can get a free parallel charge board included.. For 175.00.. No brainer..
