I dont know if they are the same size, but align's 450 canopy grommets are 2 bucks for 4 of them.

I can't vouch for them as I've never used them but microheli sells some specifically for the 450x. That's my plan since I seem to pop mine off nearly every single time I try to put on the canopy.
(I've found though that licking your fingers and rubbing them on the canopy posts helps them slide through the grommets easier) |

This is what I used and they are available from most DIY stores. They are used as bump stops on cupboard doors etc. I made a small hole in the centre and stuck them on the canopy with cyano. Also if you stick them on to the rear most position of the slot the canopy is a slightly looser fit.

For a quick fix, I've been using the rubber servo grommets (round type not square). It's not a permanent fix but when you're out flying it'll work.

I just bought some from here yesterday. Was the cheapest I could find when you add in the shipping charges. "Whatever the market will bear" applies to these things for sure.

I took my old grommet with me to home depot and bought a pair that are working just fine.

When you put the new grommets in (or old ones if they're perfectly intact) just place a drop of ca on the inside of canopy and let it encircle the outside of the grommet. No more popping off/wearing out easily - unless you just try to destroy it

Canopy Grommet Source
I found the Align grommets to work better for me.

Or spend $6 on a set of these: http://www.completeheli.com/fusuno-s...s-fua-003s.htm I installed these on my new Fusuno canopy and so far they work great and a 100 times better than the stock rubber grommets that keep popping out.

After my last crash, I was combing the net for parts and came across them. No one place had all the parts I needed so ended up ordering from all over the place; clubheli.com and ExperienceRC were both good as well. And in case you get a balance connector on your Hyperion battery that doesn't fit any plugs, you can order the correct connector from here: http://www.rc-connectors.com/

I bought grommets from MicroHeli. Found them on their webshop while grabbing some spares for my mCPX BL. Their prices are a bit high but their shipments are the fastest and cheapest I've ever experienced on International shipments, which definitely weighs up for the price differences.
Last time I ordered parts from MicroHeli I had them at my door 3 work days later. That's pretty darn good considering I'm living in Norway and MH in Asia. |
