I think I'll go the float noodle route for mine... although, even if it lands and doesn't sink I don't know how far I'll be swimming out into the bay to get it!

if you look at the 350QX showreels, where it's flying over water around a seaplane - you can clearly see the shadow of the 350 with much larger pontoon-sized landing gear. I was/am kind of hoping these are a future release (like the tall gear just out)

Just be careful not to get the electronic board on the skid plate wet, I think it,s the altimeter, that is the only draw back I see. I wonder if it could be waterproofed in some way

This is my first post so hopefully I'm allowed to post links...

baddb1 on RCG forums did floats using noodles

Blade 350QX on floats! (2 min 20 sec)

That motivated me to finish mine up using a foam wreath ring

350QX Seaquad water landing (0 min 50 sec)

I made the cutout perfect to where on "medium" FOV with my GoPro3 you couldn't see the float at all while maintaining a good weight distribution, but I didn't have my phone with me to use to frame the picture when I set it up for my test flight.

Even with the cutout and the GoPro in the waterproof housing, there was very minimal forward lean on the water.

The picture is from before I finished the thing, I just never got around to taking a new picture. I pushed the dowels into the foam which made perfect indents, then cut them down and glued them in. The quad is attatched with reusable zip ties.
