My issue with support was my emails were going to their junk folder. It wasn't until a team pilot here got in touch with them on my behalf that avant then called me.

Maybe the same is happening to some of you.

Does the Nitro canopy fit the electric? I am guessing it just has an extra cutout for the muffler and has the starter hole on the top. I am toying with the idea of setting up a Nitro frame and switching the mono block between it and my electric.

The nitro canopy will fit the electric, but I suggest using the electric canopy for both if you want to switch back and forth. The electric canopy has the NACA ducts and it will clear the muffler, as there is no muffler cutout on the nitro canopy. The only modification you will have to make is to drill a small hole in the top of the canopy to allow for the starter shaft.

I'm guessing this is why I don't own a TDR.

Twit filters are the single most obvious reason why the "email to purchase" business model will never go mainstream.

I had a reply back from Avant yesterday and they are expecting canopies again before the end of the year as the ones delivered prior to IRCHA we badly squashed in transit. So fingers crossed I should have mine in January sometime, Avant has also formed me that the nitro models are being shipped to the UK this week coming .

You do know you can fly without a canopy. Or are you missing something else?

Im missing the front air dam brackets to hold the the batteries in, and i can fly without a canopy but i don't like to , so yes it works and test hovered but that it unfortunately I don't want the batteries coming out during flight .

What amazes me is that the deformed supplied canopies were seen at the Avant factory in August this year and its taken till now to get the supplier to make new ones ! Thats 5 months production time , how many are they making ????

Speaking as one who sticks his helis in often, too often, buying this heli was an epic fail.

Yep im beginning to agree ! Ill eat my hat if the Nitro version turns up this week as the UK supplier know nothing of the shipment whatsoever ! They always get notification of shipping prior to any delivery and they have had nothing !

I would think that a 3rd party MFG like Funsuno might be able to get you a canopy so you don't have to wait so long to fly again. Another recently released model has full FRP bodies dropping for it already and it only been 5 months. Since the Mostro is just one big a$$ canopy it should be pretty simple I would l think.

In any case, I really do hope you get your heli back up soon. Looking through several posts and some reviews online, I'm seeing ALOT of problems not including spares support. I'm glad I dodged that bullet. I almost bought the Nitro.

You didn't dodge anything, you messed up. Both the electric and nitro are awesome. the only issue I had with either of mine was electronics related. In fact most people who bought them had no issues there were very few that had issues as you will see by reading the posts.
