You would have to charge it as a 8S pack. I dont know if they make an adapter like that sorry.

Default Version 2.5

I just downloaded and installed the version 2.5 software on both of my TP-101C chargers. No manual available yet but here are the changes acording to TP;

*Added NiCd/NiMh/PB (SLA)/LiFe (A123) battery charge/discharge/cycle functions
*Up to 10 memory slots are independently assignable for each chemistry type
*LiFe (A123) top off voltage is adjusted to 3.65V/cell
*Added selectable 2-10 hour system timeout function
*The last cycle data of charge and discharge before an error interruption occurs can be viewed by pressing the [Sel] (Select) button.
*Discharge power factor added
*Added 1's decimal digit to the voltage display
*At boot up, the screen message now shows "Thunder Power RC" (used to show "Thunder Power")
*Recovery mode:
Increased from C/4 to C/2
Increased from 60 minutes to 120 minutes
*All nomenclature that said "A123" now says "LiFe"
*NiMH and NiCd Delta Peak algorithms have been optimized to reduce/prevent issues of false peaking
*Improved error warning information

The wires on the balancer to the charger is not made of good quality wires... they thorn off easily. The way this charger was priced we could expect a good solid link between the balancer and the charger. But I love the part that we can upgrade its firmware!

Hey a newbie here and have a lipo battery question.

My E-Flight 1800 mah battery says on the label to not exceed 11.1 volts. My Tunder Power charger finished charging it and on the read out it showed a charge of 12.598 volts. I checked with a mulit-meter and it did read 12.598 volts.

My question is should I set my charger to a lower voltage charge (instead of 1.8) what should I set it to or is that voltage okay and exactly what does the label mean by
"Do not exceed 11.1 volts?"
I am doing a full balance charge on the battery, not a quick charge or 98% charge.

Thanks and I just purchased a Blade 400

Are you sure it says not to exceed 11.1? A fully charged lipo is at 4.2V per cell. This is normal. Thus a 3 cell pack is 4.2 X 3 = 12.6 volts.

Now the misconception many times is the packs label lists the "nominal" voltage while under load. This is why it says 11.1 volts on the pack. Under load a cell is usually producing at 3.7V per cell or 11.1V

This has confused many over the years e.g. what the label says vs what a fully charged pack not under load reads.

Anyway you are OK charge just like what you just have seen the 1010 do.

This is great information and I am downloading it now. I have a manual, but it is not very good. As a beginner, I want to keep my Lipos in top shape, and this will certainly help. BTW, Firefox users would right click and select "Save link as" to download the video, which is slightly different than MSIE.

Default 1010C and Li ion charging

Help.... I have and up to date 1010C charger and balancer but I cannot get it to charge Li ion battery... it only shows 4.1v any help would be apprecited. I'm not using the balancer for the Li ion 2 cell battery. I think that it should show 8.2 for a 2 cell.....

Thanks, Nick
