We have a little brother
It looks like we have a little brother, his name is 12MZ. By what I have been told it has most of the programing features of the 14MZ. I might have to get one for a back-up radio.

You can take the programmed models from the 14MZ and load them into the 12Z. That is provided your not using channel 13 and 14. The 12Z and 14MZ have basically the same basic programming.
It is 12Z not 12MZ <G> Got to play with the 12Z at Toledo trade show. I really like the 12Z and how it programs. Simple and quick. It is a great radio that has a lot of features. Definitely a great replacement for the 9Z. David |

Thanks for clearing up the name, sounds like a replacement for the 9Z. By the way how do you get Conrad to go flying? Call him and give him some crap for me. He does not have a working radio. His JR 8103 case fell apart while he was flying in Daytona with us. That was 3 weeks ago and he still has not bought a radio.
Thanks Dave, Mike

Here are the major differences. There are a few other minor ones as well:
14MZ versus 12Z: A larger color display and touch screen interface (WinCE). Two more non-proportional digital channels. Ability to play/record sounds and wave files. Ability to display a photo of your plane. Two more sliders. Two more Trim type tabs on the TX front (T5 & T6). An included 32 MB CF Card. Bayonet antenna attachment. 12Z screws on. 9 conditions per model versus 8. Built in clock w/ date feature. USB service interface. NOT a user feature. All models up to 12 channels fully transferable between each. 12Z has a lower battery consumption (500 mA versus 750 to 1,000 mA for the 14MZ). They use the same battery. 2200 mAh lithium Ion.
