Eflite 700 500KV Motor
Hello all,
A buddy has an Eflite 700 500KV and I was wondering if that is good for a 700 build. I do sport flying and do a little 3d hopefully soon more, recommendations are appreciated! |

That motor is ultra weak sauce. They don't even bother to rate the power cause its too embarrassing. But you can get an idea of the power it makes on 12s and only pulling 80A peak current. A good motor for 3D would be rated to pull about 100A continuous and 165A peak current. Double the current.
It'd have to be the most efficient motor ever created to make good power with 80A peak on 12s. If it was that ultra efficient, it wouldn't cost 80 bucks. I'd find a better motor. I'd recommend a 750mx... perhaps used. Thats a motor that you can grow into and makes the insane torque and power a 700 needs. That Eflite is a hover motor at best. Voltage: 44.4V RPM/Volt (Kv): 500Kv Resistance (Ri): 0.03Ω Idle Current (Io): 1.2A @ 10V Continuous Current: 60A Maximum Burst Current: 80A Cells: 12S Li-Po Speed Control: 80 to 120-Amp HV Weight: 15.3 oz (435 g) Overall Diameter: 2.05 in (52.0mm) Shaft Diameter: 0.23 in (6.0mm) Shaft Length: 3.80 in (95.5mm) Overall Length: 2.50 in (63.0mm) |
