Thanks,

the 306 is rated at 6v max. The 306hv is rated at 7.2 max so you would be fine running at 5.5v

I'm using TGY-113mg cyclics, and I don't see those in your table. I also don't see those in the list on the BeastX website. If I find a combination of settings that work, do you want them posted here, or does someone know what pulse width hz settings to use for those servos?

Default Servos and MH Carbon Frame

Got a MH carbon/alum frame. I just got my TGY306HV servos and you have to mod them to make them fit. Its pretty simple, just requires a little cutting of the servo flange at the center hole. Aside from that they fit good and look awesome on the bird. Put the TGY306G on the tail, cant wait to get this thing back together and in the air.

Default servo travel?

Hi guys!

I've installed a MKS DS95i as tail servo in my 300X, and that made my tail 100% perfect! Love it!

Now I've also installed the TGY306G as tail servo in my T-Rex 450 and 450X. These seem to be a clone of the DS95i.

There's one thing though that puzzles me with both these servos: The travel is very limited! On my 300X I can barely have enough throw with the ball far out on the horn and the inner hole on the pitch lever arm. But on my 450X even that is not enough.

See video:
[ame]http://youtu.be/RDyG80ArQfk[/ame]

My settings are:
-tail servo 560 Hz
-tail servo pulse length 1520 us (EDIT: It's set at 760 us, sorry my bad)

I tried with 150% travel on my DX8 but it did not seem to help.

Any ideas? I mean, some of you guys also use these for cyclics - how on earth do you get enough travel then???

The pulse width should be 760us on that servo.

Yes you are correct (center pulse lengt). I also have that setting, just double checked. I just remembered wrong when writing the post.

Any other ideas?

I do that a lot lately.

The radio end points probably are limited by the gyro. If you disconnect the tail rod and then go into the Beastx programming for tail end points will it move further?

Tried that, still very short movement... it was the same with the DS95i.

My buddy made same mistake. He had set his gyro on his tx to inhibit. We changed the settings by activating the gyro and increased gain to at least 30 ( dx8) and his ds95i has full throw

Gain has effect on throw???

Gyro is activated and set to settings as pr. 300X manual.

Can you please elaborate?

That's your problem, you should be set to 1520uS (unlike the DS95i)

I have the same servo on the tail of my 300 and it is set at 1520 and worked great until I planted my 300 last weekend. Not due to a tail issue but dumb thumbs. Now it is locked up. Do the gears for the MKS fit the TGY ?

That did the trick!

Dare I try that on the MKS DS95i as well or may it ruin it?

I am uncertain why. My friend has a ds95i on the tail and his servo did the same. He had it at 560/ 760. I then enable tx gyro but it didn't have full throw until we increased the gain to around 25-30

As I see it you must adjust gain while flying. Until you have no wag but solid tail hold.

Whilst you set endpoints on the bench.

Ok. I know the MKS95i is a great servo. I have the TGY306g and it has been really good until it locked up because of a hard crash. I have looked at the gears and they LOOK the same as the MKS. Also there are a few people saying that the KSTDS115 clone is also a match for the MKS and the TGY and the gears are the same. I am ordering a set of the replacement gears for the KST, they are only $6. Thought I'd give it a try. Will post the results as soon as I get them in.

I'm thinking that since the center pulse frequency is different it can't be an exact clone.

Also IIRC the specs are a little bit better in favor of the MKS. Had several crashes and they sure are strong as a horse!

You are absolutely right but it was just weird. He had only tiny throw like yours. I went into bx menu E (end points) and had full throw but not when not in bx setup. For the heck of it, I cranked up the gain and whoa la, it had full throw. I don't know if this is due to tx or what because he has a dx8 and I have a jr 11x. Mine doesn't do that but perhaps I will try inhibiting my gyro or turn it down low and see if it does the same. I have a ds95i on both of my 450 pros as well

I use the Hitec 5065MGs on the cyclic and Hitech 5084MG on the tail and they work great with the AR7200BX. I also use them with a normal BeastX on my 450Pro and they're great there too.
