I have never heard of anything like that for any other Castle ESCs. I have a total of 79 rcs between land & air and probably 25 or more Castle ESCs.

Mine is also servo taped to the mount. This could simply be a recommendation because of temperature and possible zip tie failure. I may email my buddy at Castle about this one.
Thanks for pointing it out.

Hi guys, before I get too carried away on my wiring I want to be sure I don't

invest a lot of time be happy with the job done then realize it has to be rerouted.

I'm uncertain if the front reciever tray is a satisfactory place to mount the Vbar

because as you know its on a slant, and I'm unsure if the FBL controller has to

be on a level surface like the platform on the back of the heli. here is some

photos

I've had a look through the "show us your TTX50e" thread and can't say

I saw any FBL controllers where I have mine, only receivers.

If it was a full size Vbar, that's a great place to mount the sensor. Not sure I'd mount a mini vbar there. I used the back mounting area for mine.

I mounted my iKon on the back. When setting up the sensor location in the software there's nothing for "angle of mount". Not familiar with vbar but I always try to keep my gyros as level as possible.

Thanks for the advice men, yeah I was a bit iffy about it there. I've posted the

same question in the Vbar forums so hopefully I get a concrete answer by the morning.

Glad I didn't go all the way with braid and ties etc, always good to ask when

in doubt

The first part of that area is good, but I think the case hanging over isn't good, for me anyway. Just make sure it's not going up the slanted part and you should be fine.

Aaahh its ok, I think I'll just place it on the rear shelf. It'll still be tidy and either way

I'm going to have to use use 2 servo extentions. All good.

Ya, rear gyro tray just behind the mainshaft is the best place for any fbl unit with inbuilt gyros, or the fbl sensor (that contains the gyros on many vbars and futaba). I guess this is why TT call it a gyro tray, lol!

Cheers,
TomC

Got a response from Castle Creations today about your concern regarding the zip ties on the body of the ESC:

"There is some concern if the zip ties are dogged down onto the ESC, it could cause fatigue on glue that helps hold the aluminum heatsink to the circuit board. Using a zip tie as a strain relief in conjunction with double sided tape is more than acceptable."
