Just maddened
Just maidened it! (FINALLY) Was pretty windy, but had to get it in the air. Assembly took a bit longer then expected (understatement...) and you need to check a lot of items in almost all the build steps. If I ever want to build a second one, it will go a lot smoother also with the rev b. parts I would guess. :-)
Setup 7200BX Cyclic: DS92A Tail: Futaba BLS 257 Motor: Scorpion HK2520 1360KV Everything stock from the first batch except the tail blades, these are KBDD. Is very silent, like it. Lots of power. Need to lower the tail gain, is a bit nervously oscillating. Pack is charging for another flight soon. All the best, Merg |

+1. Maidened mine as well. Perhaps the most delayed of all Warps sold in the first batch. No issues in the build to speak of. I had the advantage of knowing what most were learning from the forum. Sorry I wasn't able to be more helpful to everyone. I had numerous electronics setbacks causing mine to be very delayed. I was trying not to provide unproven feedback. It's not very credible to give advice on a heli I've not flown.
Indeed, the smoothness and silence of the machine was very gratifying to experience for a maiden. Zero issues of any kind in the first test hops. Thanks to all who helped me get things right for my maiden. Mostly, I simply paid special attention to the details of alignment of the guide roller assembly to the belts, and balanced the tail assembly as best I could. I found the canopy to amplify the sound of the machine. I guess the only disappointment with this project was the Koby 40. Instead of faulting out, my first one smoked in testing. The second one faulted out. As a dedicated Jive owner, I was truly let down by the Koby for it's limited switching frequency, and thus incompatibility for some of the motors for the Warp. The YGE 90LV I chose was an excellent replacement, but since there are so many superb value-priced ESCs for 450's, it has almost zero marketability to resell. I am confident it would do fine in a 3S-4S 450 setup, with a great BEC and simplest programming method available, but I can't imagine ever being interested in a 3S to 4S machine.

What did you do with your warp 360 this month...
Nothing. Havent touched it in a month. Been flying my mini protos during short breaks in the bad weather and rebuilding my 550. Ill fly her more when the weather straightens out and when i receive my upgraded canopy mounts, motor can, and pulley brace and such.

What did you do with your warp 360 this month...
Was doing inverted hover when it started pirouetting without rudder input - crashed it. Huhuhu! Too late to flip the SL on the Ikon. Am using MKS DS95i. Main blades, one of the balls in the swash plate and tail boom are damaged. Even my MKS DS92A+ metal gears are stripped. Now I cannot figure what could have gone wrong why it pirouetted like that.

Made a bit of maintenance yesterday, when the motor C-clip backed off. Opened motor, re tightened shaft that was a bit loose in the can, and put a new C clip on the shaft.
I also had the bearing from the tail shaft (back bearing) that had came unglued from the CA, and used JB weld for the first time. That thing grips

"used JB weld for the first time.
That thing grips" You have a gift for understatement, sir!

JB Weld will often form a stronger bond that the material it's holding, including metal / steel.

Well.. Its too early to report back anything yet.
I just flew it a couple times with the Ikon fbl. I need to tweak the ikon quite a bit I think till i feel comfy enough to really throw around the warp and see how i like it and how it can handle the 3d. I am really really hoping the warp 360 is a set and forget bird like my outrage 550 is.

It should be-mine has been this way, so far.

Brownout refers to the receiver not getting enough power and usually results in failsafe. Did you lose response to all servos? Did the rpm drop? Was your sat flashing? If none of the above it was not likely a brownout. But the CC BEC 10A on 6S is not actually 10A and I'd recommend a Gryphon 10 or 15A, WR BEC, or a cap pack.

What did you do with your warp 360 this month...
Bought some awesome upgrade parts from hawk-rc.
I had a alot of problems with my stock carbon plates not lining up, causing some lateral movement with the tail pulley. All fixed now! |

"Brownout refers to the receiver not getting enough power and usually results in failsafe."
This is not quite correct (the definition of Brownout is, not the rest of it). Actually, because during a brown out, there is not sufficient voltage, the unit will not go into failsafe, as there is not sufficient power to the on board electronics to cause them to go into failsafe. Failsafe requires power. When the power recovers, it will revert to whatever servo positions it was bound in, as it does on boot up (this may be the same as the failsafe position). Some FBL units will not re-set, as long as they are in motion, so what happens after this in flight is academic. Fail safe is invoked when the signal from the TX is lost, not when power is lost. No voltage-no failsafe.
