Default I told myself I'd never fly a Logo ...

But I'm getting a 600SE in a trade! I'm slightly concerned about the repair costs versus my previous helis, but have some questions about my setup.

The SE is coming with a 4035-560 setup for 10s. I think I'd prefer to run 12s simply because of the packs I have available. So, a few questions:

1. Obviously the 560kv motor won't work for 12s. Will a 510kv 700MX with 11T or 12T pinion get me in a desirable (meaning it won't blow the head apart) headspeed range without melting main gears?

2. If I convert to a 3d, it looks like 3300 packs would work pretty well. Correct?

3. If I keep it as an SE, would 3800 or 4000 mah packs be about right?

4. Will I be blown away by this heli?

600 3D works really well with 3800, I would consider going with those size batteries from the start.

1. Yes but not not as an 600SE. It will be fine as a 6003D

2. Yes if you run not too high a headspeed. Keep it below 2200rpm and your flight times should be OK. Around 3600mAh would be better with higher headspeeds.

3. 4000mAh is fine for a 600SE. I found 3800 was too light. Just me.

4. Depends what you expect from it. If you compare it to other 600s, yes it blows them all away. Thing is people tend to compare this 600 size to other 700 size machines. A 700 will always have more presense and make more noise but the Logo 600 holds its own against any 700 when it comes to actual performance and accuracy. Then there's the low maintance. There really isn't much maintenance at all.

I've been running the gensace 3300s at 12S. I get about 4min with 600mm blades at 2150rpm.

I just bought a set of gensace 6s 3800mA 25C packs. they don't really fit, they hit the counter bearing. and on there side they don't fit thru the frame. I ended up opening up the frame to put them in on their side.

Sizes have been inconsistant with Gens ace, but my 2 sets of 6s 3800s fit fine with counter bearing.

Man I've got a high powered 7HV that flies simply awesome, yet the ol' logo 600 still feels like home. Still so smooth, predictable, balanced, quiet... It just begs to be flown hard.

Thanks for the info. It looks like I'll be playing the lottery with my gens ace 3800s if I go that route, and the 3300s will be too small to get the kind of flight times I'd like.

I'm looking forward to the logo experience, although this one is going to take some repairs to get in the air. If anyone has a 600se tailboom and /or belt I could buy off of them, I'd be grateful!

I wouldn't worry about openening out the front of the frames to get your GensAce packs in sideways. I did it with my 600SE to get 6s 5000mAh packs in.

When you mention opening the frames up, are you talking about doing some trimming of the frame?

No, im pretty sure he means he opens up the frames to get the gens ace 4000 in sideways(then closes the frames around the batteries) which allows them to clear the counterbearing. They are too wide to fit in sideways.
Although that sounds good but if you had a crash and had to remove the batteries fast your heli will be a total loss. Something to think about?
On the other hand i run the xera motor which doesnt need the counterbearing bc of the short shaft and triple motor bearings. this allows me to put the gens ace packs in right side up.

Most likely, yes. Trimming the front of the opening to allow for wider packs as I've done. As opening and closing around a pack every time makes no sense.

Good example of trimming is here

Yes I meant shave some material off the front of the frames

I'll have to take a look at that later. I'm receiving a crashed 600SE, but the blades are still good and it's already set up for 10s so I think I'll keep it that way for a bit. Other than gearing, and the tail boom and belt, there's not much difference is there?

I would check them very carefully if I were you. Other than visible damage, make sure they are rigid all along the length with no soft areas. If any of the blades break in flight it will be total carnage.

You're right. I meant to say that the blades are "still good" according to the guy I'm trading with. I'm not banking on it.

Another question that will sound silly to you Mikado guys, I'm sure. Is there a replacement belt for the 600SE, made by another manufacturer, that is less expensive? I like the idea of the kevlar belt, and I understand it's probably superior, but I'm looking to try the SE out before I decide to swap to a 3d.

I read about using a raptor 90 belt with a different boom, but I'm not looking to stretch the bird any farther.

Thanks again.

The Synergy E7 belt is the same size as the 600se. I would avoid the stock E7 belt but I believe Ralph at FBL Rotors has a kevlar replacement.
