I have that same starter wand. It works great. As long as you spin it in your hand to straighten it in the cup you will be fine. I fly planes also, so this works perfectly for me.

+1 for those saying to use a 4S LiPo or the Makita pack conversion. I went w/ the LiPo cuz it was cheaper and I didn't have the drill packs or charger, but if you already do that might be more convenient. Even my Dynatron had a hard time w/ a brand new .91 using just the 12V gel cell, 4S is enough to crank anything and it's nice to have it be portable.

A word about the wand, most helis don't need one w/ a one-way built in but some do, like Hirobo and some MA machines, make sure you choose accordingly.

Replace the 3s with a 4s if necessary.

The 1 advantage 3s would have over 4s would be less chance of breaking a rod if the engine does hydrolock.

So what is the differance in a oneway in the wand and no oneway I just can't see 80 bucks for a wand if I don't need it

A one way on the wand is good say, if your helis' starter coupling doesnt employ a one way.

Almost all of them do.

The OWB in the wand is a huge waste of money.
