Default Totally not heli related...

Buuuutttttt....

Does anyone do 1/8 scale buggies?

I raced nitro buggies for a long time and then got out of it...

I am in the process of converting a Jammin X1 CR pro buggy to electric...

So far it is looking to be a promising endeavour...

I used to race 1/10th electric buggies converted to on road use.
I raced indoors on carpet with foam tires it was awsome i loved it allot.
I wish we had brushless motors and Lipos back then!

The sad part is that when you are 16 "toy RC cars" dont get you the girls!

I sold all my kit and built an awsome Kit car instead.

She really helped with the Girls!!

I am now classed as an adult (kind of) and married so i can afford to play with toys again.
I have a 1/8th savage truck thay i muck about with every now and again and its great fun.

Cant beat the thrill of flying Helis though.

Ben

Default Awesome Ben!

Nice ride...

I ran back in the day of the frog and grasshopper with mechanical ESC...

I also have an Xray T2'008 that is a fun car for onroad... Different driving technique... Loving BL for sure!

Did I mention nice ride?

LOL
you can imagine the reaction i used to get with that car at school!

I bought it really cheap, it was already built but a real Dog

I spent almost a year stripping it down and rebuilding, had it resprayed as well.

It is a VW beetle re-body job and as such had the old 1300 air cooled flat four in the back.
I ran it using some ultra short Beach buggy exhaust system that made it really loud not like a 1300 at all. It was really light as well so acceleration was pretty brisk if not fast.
I liked the 1300 engine as it made insurance cheap for a firts car.

You can imagine how impatient i was to get my license when i hit 17.
I passed my driving test exactlly 2 weeks after my test which is as fast as my instructor could teach me.

The picture isnt my actual car, i had a two tone silver red paint job but its almost exactly the same otherwise. Sadly i dont have any picturs of my actual car.

Cheers

Ben

15TH BIRTHDAY...LUNCHTIME:sit and get drivers license in beetle..have short argument about the possibility that perhaps someone had been driving without a license maybe..

15TH BIRTHDAY...EVENING:deystroy both sides and back of beetle by hitting(if i remember correctly) bank,bank,bridge...bank.did i mention it was my parents v dub

15TH BIRTHDAY...LATE EVENING:decide beetles are blot on the landscape while attempting to create story explaining 3 sides of beetle that didn't involve it being my fault

15TH BIRTHDAY...2 MINUTES LEFT...give up and decide to hate beetles passionately for the rest of my life.......

yeah bro...so when you sit your license on your 15th birthday apparently its not the go to drive one handed smoking a ciggy and listening to the stereo.apparently it gives the impression you've perhaps been driving for a little while....heh heh heh
