The Ice2 HV80 would only be necessary if you planned to upgrade to a 12s power system.

I have the Ice 75 on my 550mm bladed hurricane and it got rather hot when I was using the same motor you listed. On an 85 degree F day it would register 140 or even 150 degrees F. Moving it to a better location with more airflow did help a bit. I only do sport flying and some FFF.

If you are planning on doing any 3d flying, definitely the Ice 100.

Thanks a lot kavic5150.
the castle recommended ESCs for heli setups said the same ICE 100, that is why I have misunderstanding when someone here has an experience with 75 or 80.

What about the BEC.
The castle said that the internal Phoenix Ice BEC is not recommended on Helis with blades larger than 425mm. Helis larger than the Trex 500 need an external BEC as the larger servos pull in excess of 2 amps each which will put the internal Phoenix Ice BEC over the 5 amp peak limit rating. The CC BEC PRO is the best solution Castle offers for these larger models.
Should I buy the separate BEC in case of ICE 100, it is already included but castle not recommended and if so, the CC or CC Pro?

I use this on my 550 Hurricane and also on a Trex 500 - one with a BEC (T500) and using teh internal BEC on the Gaui - both work fine (both FBL).

I got mine on a Buddy code for $26 !!

Alternatively this should work, but I've not tried it ...

They are a clone of the YGE ESC and have an excellent governor

CC bec pro would be ok. However some have had problems with them. Mostly when they use 12s power systems.

I have one of these on the Protos:

its been flawless so far, always runs cool.
