We are happy to announce that owners of any JIVE/HELI JIVE products may now send their ESC in for an update to firmware version 13. We will also be able to provide this update service at events and shows in which KONTRONIK USA will be in attendance. If you have your update done at an event, the update will be free. There will be a flat charge of 20.00 which will include return shipping costs and insurance.

Please send your JIVE/HELI JIVE with all return information to:

KONTRONIK USA

Suite 154-382

That being said I think this is a step in the right direction. When will you be able to download updates!? That's the real question.
Silas,

The JIVE/HELI JIVE line is not designed with the option of updating online or remotely by the end user. A special update unit designed by KONTRONIK is used for the process. The newest products in the lineup, the KOBY and KOSMIK can be updated by the end user using a PROGDISC.

Marcos,

Any of the original KOSMIK 200s still need to be sent back to Germany for this process. We are unable to do this in the USA.

This original problem was with a few KOSMIK 200s. Your 160 should be fine.

Hi, I bought a used Jive 120 V9. It has some damaged to the case where the master cable plugs in, is missing its identification label, and I would like you to test if it functions OK . I think the damage to the case material is mostly cosmetic. Can you also supply me a slave cable with toroidal ring, update the firmware, supply new label, and check its function. Please let me know. Thank you

he was referring to a firmware issue where it would have to be sent in to be updated past a certain point. There was an issue with an early batch where it would brick if you tried to update it. but could be sent in and boot loader would be fixed and it would be updated to newest firmware free of charge

This was a very well publicised recall but the way to tell is to look at the top of a log file. this will tell you exactly what version you are running

based on my knowledge I would check the Kontronik site http://www.kontronik.com/index.php?o...mid=98&lang=en

The Jive should be sent to Service address with filled out service form that you find on the website. In addition you should be able to buy the wires with ferrite ring at different providers. Possibly Kontronik could directly provide that to you but it maybe easier toi even get those at any other online stores.

Thats what I would do.

Have to bump this thread up, figure it would be a sticky by now.

Had great service from Greg at Kontronik USA. Always got back to me with a status update even for the minor steps along the way. Glad to know that we can now get the service here on a local level.
