What Tx you using Gerd?
Are starting to have some probs over here with tht reciever unit. It will loose its bind randomly. There are a couple that now just refuse to bind with the dsx9(x9303) series, will happily bind with a dx7 but trouble when binding to a high resolution tx. They belive it to be something with higher resolution coding.

Dont mean to scare you as that is a fantastic Rx that saves heaps of wiring and components. But so far in Aus they have killed an Aurora, suspected of killing 700, and lost its binds on a few others before they took to the air ( thank god) so far.

Seems to be totally at random. Spektrum have replaced the fauly units and so far no issues but something to be aware of Gerd.

If you suspect that you are loosing your bind DONT FLY.

Nice upgrades though.

Looks nice Gerd. Did you just get it.

Hey i need to get a servo for the tail on my new bird. The 3 that came with are hitec hs-65. I was thinking about getting a digital servo for the tail, but haven't the slightest clue on what to look at. Is it really worth it or should i just get another hitec servo.

Hmm, that is slightly disconcerting! Not seen any issues reported here and as I understand it there are quite a few using the 7100R/X9303. Will keep an eye on it though as I have just upgraded to the DSX9 One of the benefits was supposed to be that they are both high resolution so gutted if that now starts being problematic!

Thanks for the heads up though Darin.

I got it just before Xmas, but not flown it much (twice now with a couple tanks the second time).

With regards to the servo for the tail, I run digital on all my helis now. I felt with the amount I was spending on the gyro it was pointless then throwing a cheap servo on. In fact, the Spartan which I have got for the EXI HAS to be digital tail!

Gerd
It is probably nothing, of all the ones being used here in Aus its only been a couple so far but they have all been the ar7100/r, no probs with the other 9 channel receivers.

Maybe just a bad batch, just thought I should let you know.

Gerd, will you please not post pornography on a public forum. There are kids that might see this.

In all seriousness though, that is a sexy heli! And what a setup!

You going to be running the reg in that with a lipo?

Then you can run those servos at 8v,

No reg, just running the 7100R with the lipo so those servos will be running 8v then the gyro/tail servo will be running off the regulated side of the 7100R

Need to get a new lipo which I am just looking into at the moment as the one with it is a little ropey. Got the servos installed now but until I get a new lipo won't be setting them up.

I am actually considering selling the GY611 gyro and replacing it with another Spartan as they are just so damned small Will see how I get on with it when I set the EXI up with the spartan then decide!

Dont waste the Spartan on the Exi

The Spartan is one of the best gyros around at the moment. Put it on the 600.
It is certainly good enough on my mates Aurora. He wont use anything else. He does some fairly hard core 3d and it holds like nothing esle he tells me.

Would a GY611 be too much for a 450? You could swap them around

It has the amp as well so extra weight and space needed to mount the GY611 on the EXI. I will probably just sell it when I get back to the UK and get another Spartan

Dude your on a crazy bling spree!
The 611 is a really good gyro though - theres no NEED to upgrade it for a very bery long time, but if the bling factor of having a spartan calls........

Im counting my money everyday - getting abit closer to the 700 now, I almost bought the engine for it (YS 91SR) the other day, but then my car decided it needed some attention and broke down, so that engine money went on my car engine .

Oh, i have a pile full of broken TT gears on my bench - too much inverted auto practice, and too many close calls casing me to catch the tail lol.

Got the 250 sitting on there waiting for this rain to go so i can slap it around abit

Gerd, I feel bad now for buying your logictech:o

Grant, where have you been? Haven't seen you for a couple of weeks. How's the flying? How much you think of spending on the 700?

Yeah baby!! Been playing around with it. The menu is more complicated than the DX6I. The DX6I is a lot more user friendly, you have to hold down different buttons and turn it on at the same time etc to get to certain menu's but it is an awsome TX. I bought ths mainly because I want a trex 600 in the summer. The switch assignment is a good feature. The p mixes should come in handy. It is complicated but if used properly you can get the most perfect setup with it. I think it looks more professional than the DX6I too..

But here is my advice. If you are 100% sure you are going to stick with small electric helis GET THE DX6I. It is perfect for the job and there is no need for a DX7. If you want big nitro helis I would sayget this or better still a DSX9. I am also thinking about having a scale 450 in the future too sooo yeah...

I love it! Spektrum or JR all the way!

Great, Jonny! You're going to love that radio once you get to grips with the menu system. Which should take about an hour, since you already know what you're doing

Damn! All you guys are getting/got some nice stuff on your benches! Today the belt is on the bench and I'm planning to get it re-setup and flying with the Dx6i I love this thing! I have some errands to run first. I have to pickup my money from working yesterday and then off to the LHS! I was fiddling around last night trying to get her flying but seemed no matter what I did I could not get the Esky 704A to hold after waking up this morning I figured it out I forgot to switch the UBEC back to 5volts as thats all that gyro can take. Well I getting a gyro pad fot the GY400 today so I hope I'll have a vid by night fall!

Well, really, I watched the DX7 setup videos before I got it so I already know most things. Still a few things I am not to sure about though

Don't forget yourself. The DX6I is ALMOST the same. There are a few better things on the DX7 and that's it. Like I said, the main reason was for the extra channel. And seeing as I loved my DX6I I wanted to stick with Spektrum. I am actually going to miss the DX6I. My brother might buy it off my along with my Belt CP. Showed my neighbour the heli the other day and he didn't seem too keen after all that work I put into it. Oh well, it wil be better flying with my brother anyway.

Spektrum and JR are my favorate brand for TX's, all of them are really good. The only Spektrum TX I would NOT buy is the DX5 which doesn't even have a screen lool.

About the gyro. Make sure you have no values inputted into the "revo mix" menu because that will interfere with the HH mode. God these TX's are complicated
