TRM G-231 vs. Prototype TRM G-26

I hope that this will lend a bit of clarity to the TRM 26 prototype vs. TRM G-231.

The TRM G-231 motor has had modifications to make it first more user friendly than the stock motor. The stock motor is very good, but we wanted better. The G-231 version has had further modifications to widen the power band around the peak HP range and help the motor to operate smoothly at this elevated RPM from its intended use, as a weedy wacker/leaf blowing industrial piece of equipment! The G-231 stock motor is still a bit raw as supplied (although MUCH better than previous G-23 power plants).

The TRM modified motor is called "stage #1" because the modifications have not been geared toward making the motor really produce maximum power, but instead to make it super user friendly with an increase in usable power. This G-231 can be pushed for more power, but we did not want to sacrifice any user friendliness. Several more things can be done to the motor to make it much more powerful, one of which is to get it ported for and put on a matched pipe system. The real power will be realized then!!!

The G-26 prototype motor is a "stage #1" motor as well. The modifications are identical to the G-231 TRM motor. Much testing will be done on this motor before any recommendations are realized. For the sake of all involved, the motor will be thoroughly tested so that when/if the motor is released, it will be top notch. This motor may also operate at slightly different operating parameters, such as gear ratio (for a different RPM range) but as now we just don't know. Unfortunately , we are in the time of year that is ideal for gas motors. They will make more power due to the cool dense air, but this poses anther hurdle. The heat of summer is a much better testing ground for these motors as heat is a factor as well and we don't want any heat related issues. The TRM G-231 modified motor was thoroughly tested in the heat of summer and passed with flying colors.

So forget the G-26 motor for now, the TRM G-231 modified is the cat's ass and the $#it that killed Elvis!
