Default Where to set the flybar weights ?

So the SR is completely rebuilt due to the last crash. First question, where do I start off with the flybar weights position. I am still using the stock TX.

The flybar weights are there to help tame down the SR...... positioning of the weights is all down to personal preference.

By reading your post and since you are asking about the weights I will assume you are fairly new to all this heli malarkey.

So, If I was you I would position one weight at the paddle end and the other at the flybar cradle end and see how you like the handling.( do this to both sides)

If the handling is too sharp for you move the inner weight out towards the paddles.

If its too docile, move the weight near the paddle closer to the cradle.

Also if its too docile then you can always remove the inner most weight and then start to move the weight near the paddle nearer the cradle.

Once your more proficient you can actually remove all the flybar weights ... but the SR does handle better with at least one weight on either side.

One thing you must always do is to make sure that the weights on either side are the same distance from the centre hub.

nbells, I was hoping you would see this. The sr picked a fight with my camper last year and the camper won. I had to rebuild it from the frame up, even a new tail motor. I did do the water/alcohol burn-in on the tail motor. It has been sitting on the shelf since then. Now I have to go through all of the adjustments as if it came out of the box brand new. Even with the stock TX, I should be able to get it close. As soon as I can get a DX6i, new or used, it might fly a bit better. So in the mean time I have been flying my modded CX2. If you have a set-up procedure that you go through, I would be grateful to here from you.

Remove them and throw them away. You don't want them. Handles much better without them.

I'm no a proficient flyer but I found mine handles better with the weights off and negative expo on the dx6i. It removes the sluggish feel and responds quicker to input. It made a world of difference for me. Not saying that's what you should do , just saying. Good luck. The SR is an awesome heli and worth any and all effort.

Hi all just wanted to ask as I'm new to this forum and to my blade SR. OK I did my maiden out of the box, but didn't notice that the right aileron switch wasn't centered like all the other ones, except for my throttle one which was in the off position, anyway she lifted off and then dropped her tail and headed for the ground and me.:-/ And so now I've replaced everything that broke, but I'm a little confused as to setting the blades to zero & changing the pitch, and my flybars proper placement, and I'm using a digital pitch gauge? Anybody know where I find info or a video to walk thru it all? Please:-)

So far I have not figured out how to properly set my pitch.
I'd like to know myself.
Fly bar I have all weights off except ones closest to main
shaft, flies fine. Be sure to measure distance between ends of fly
bar with everything off end of fly bar to fly bar holder.
lock that down add weights then add weight on end if you so desire,
And paddles then measure against weight near head to weight or fly bar
To set distance for each, and they should be the same. If not adjust paddle in
or out.

Here are a few videos on setting Pitch

Pitch Gauge
Blade 400 3d Pitch Gauge 101 (6 min 38 sec)

Setup 1
http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=...CPM_Part_1.wmv
setup 2
http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=...CPM_Part_2.wmv

Basic rundown usually goes something like
Setup trasmitter hold pitch to be 0 - 25 - 50 - 75 - 100
flip hold switch & center throttle
check all your servos are at 90 degs to the swash plate
then I put pitch gauge on and keep flybar 90 deg to ground
check your pitch at 100 and pitch at 0
if pitch at 100 is low raise all your servo linkages
if pitch is high lower all servo linkages

but I'm very new to the heli world and really shouldn't have a B400
