Re: How fast is a stock 300x with carbon fiber blades?
Faster than my 4 eyed GT (needs some work). Speed really depends on a lot of things, are you talking head speed or FFF speed. I don't recommend ever going to a 100 TC on these helis even with carbon blades. Mine bends main shafts at a 75 TC. I don't feel like dealing with it any more so I am pulling the Beast to put in my 5003d.

I don't have an answer, but it can definitely handle 100% TC. I had an H420 motor on mine and have had no problems in 100+ flights, so the 320 shouldn't be a problem.
Make sure you keep it as vibe free as possible and it will hold together fine. |

Head speed on a standard 320 at 100% TC ranges from 3500 to 3900 rpm in it's stock configuration depending on the charge on the battery.

Did you have the frame brace? I tried 100% TC with carbon blades and no frame brace once and the main shaft snapped mid flight in about 5 seconds. And the heli was vibe free too.

Hmm... anyone notice they discoed the CF blades and now only have Micro Helis version?
They even look different and wider now? I always wondered why they seemed smaller other then the speed you could run them at. Have a look - (first pair discoed -- scroll down for the new version?)... odd - http://www.horizonhobby.com/products...4580#t4-HOPUPS

Its kind of a shame because I like these blades. I never liked that they don't have any white markings (I've added reflective stickers) but they are tough as nails. I've never managed to break them even with one pretty bad inverted crash I had. Luckily I bought a spare set sometime back, but I guess if I ever run through those it'll have to be Edge blades because I'm just not a huge fan of Microheli. Not to mention they are always backordered on the HH site. The Microheli blades have been in the parts list on the site for some time, so that's nothing new. In the broader scope I wonder if this signifies anything other than a modified relationship with their original supplier. Or maybe Revolution (a Horizon subsidiary) will release 245mm blades. That's probably the plan I bet. Anyways...if you want some of these blades you better get them now before the sell out everywhere. http://www.helidirect.com/eflite-245...sr-p-26091.hdx http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...in-Rotor-Blade

Yeah np - I hope to see someone from HH chime in - I would like to see a set of Revo blades for it and OH SAY A PRO SERIES 300 -- which would be killer.

might have been a bad run on the blades...I need to call HH today to discuss the set of blades i bought new yesterday from the lhs..VERY poor quality in my opinion ..you can see parts of the blade where it is just the underlying webbing and the blades do not fit right into the ALu blade grips.....the sanding i had to do to the root of the blades was way more then it should have been and they still do not feel right in the holders...if i am going to spend 30 on blades the qc should be there and I should not have to put that much effort in getting the blades to fit..

Those #s are too high. Realistically, 320 can't get enough voltage from 3S to drive them faster than ~3300 with 9T and don't have enough power to drive them faster than ~3400 with 10T at zero pitch.

Maybe I got the wrong kv on the 320. What is the kv on that motor then?
