DTS MODIFICATION - ALTERNATIVE VERSION

Advantages to the DTS mods are:

1) Swashplate is more precise now, hardly any CCPM interaction due to slop.
2) The heli is much lighter after the mod with the removal of 4 linkage rods, 3 bellcrank levels, 6 bearings and abit of the frame material.
3) Option of mounting the Lipo on the upper part of the frame thus improving the roll characteristics of the heli as the cg is closer inline with the tail boom.
4) Cheap to carry out, the E352 mounts (Alternative method only) costs only $5.20 and is the only item you'll need. I believe this is the most "bang for the buck" anything that I have ever done.
5) The helis now flies very precisely, there is no pitching during forwards, punchups are vertical (not slewing to the side as previously) and the heli seems to be a little more agile (due to the weight reduction)

I have the E325 servo holders. Can you take a better picture of where you mounted them? Maybe an outline of the holder and the body? Picture is too dark, it's hard to distinguish what is what and where you used the screws to mount them.

Its Trial and Error, mount your servo on the Servo Base and find where the link is the straightest to the swash with the servo arm at 90 degrees... Thats where you mount it to the frame

Sorry the new crew should have thought of that But we were so oppressed with not being allowed to post links to sites we forgot.

Servo Tray your looking for is for the Mini Titan E325..

This site has some.

My frame should show up in about a week and a half. I'll do some measuring and 'fiddling' and post my results.

It can be done, just i dont trust Esky's single direction weave of the carbon fiber that much.

You can do it the way they have it on the King II, look up some pictures of its carbon fiber frame and you will see how the 2 servo's are mounted at the rear and the one up front on the side.

God only knows why they would switch from direct to swash to links on a newer bird.

Ber60,
My DTS mod is very similar to yours, but I have not cut as much of the left side support away to make way for the pitch servo. This has left me with less servo travel due a shorter servo horn. I believe that i will have to cut more away, so on your mod, has this made the left side if the frame a bit weak, or have you strengthened it somehow?

Mike

Look at the side rib right at the center of the frame in line with the shaft.

There is a High ridge then lower section then back up to a high ridge again... cut away
up to the 2nd high ridge, leaving the ridge there, that should allow enough space for
the servo arm and also keep the servo from touching the shaft.

Again the servo acts as a replacement beam so really no additional strengthening is needed, ifyou want to add you can do it right at that section the same way you did the bracing for the back 2 servos.
