I didn't say I could get them now.

I still need to improve my piloting skills before I will reward myself with a new heli.

I like to have goals

After some research I had narrowed things down to a TDR or an E7 and I think the E7 would be a better fit for me for my next heli. However, I still may consider getting a TDR eventually. Time will tell. I really like nice engineering

So now I need to get some serious flying in for the next couple months and see how far I can get.

Maybe I'll be able to justify one by Christmas.

Not available yet but soon. If they're anything like the Rail 606's they'll be off the chart!

Roger that -- I really was hoping that I could find a pair...

+1! I like nice engineering too! I just got my E7 so I'm just starting the build. So far, I really like what I'm seeing. About the TDR -- I saw your thread/question in the Henseleit forum. That heli really is what everyone says it is. Good idea to wait, because I can understand why you want to have parts available locally. I like that too, and I don't like to have that heli down while waiting for parts to arrive from Germany. So I have 2 TDRs; if/when one goes down and needs parts, I have the other one to fly while waiting.

It would have been great to have the 696s for the E7, but I guess I'll just have to wait...
BTW, any idea of what "soon" really means?

ElectricSheep,

It is a really good sign that a guy with 2 TDR's is building an E7 and liking what he sees!

I'd love to hear what you think of it in flight. I read where a few people thought their Logo's actually flew better than their TDR's, but that their TDR's were still special and a different experience.

I'm hoping that the E7 flys better than a Logo. It looks like it could.

Solid engineering, and flight dynamics should go together if form follows function, but there are a lot of variables involved.

I want to appreciate how my next heli flies more than the engineering behind it.

@mkovalcson, I really have only laid the first part of the build on my workshop table and so far all looks good. I'll of course have a better idea once I start assembling, but I don't mean to compare the E7 to the TDRs. They're very different machines, but I think I'll be pretty happy with the E7!

Now I need to go and re-read this thread and decide on a new motor, because the 12T and 13T pinions aren't available yet. The motors I have spin too fast for a 14T or 15T pinion (if I use a Kontronik or YGE ESC).

I'm not asking for a direct comparison they are built with a different emphasis.

My comment is just that someone who really appreciates the engineering of a Henseleit would have purchased a Mikado or something else if the E7 didn't look like a well crafted heli. That's all.

There is always an unfortunate part to opening your eyes to things. You see other things a lot more clearly. My 550E still seems like a good heli for me to learn on, but I will never look at it the same way and I'm definitely not impressed with its engineering. Many of the upgrades are reasonably nice, but most of it doesn't remotely compare with a heli that is well engineered from the beginning.

I'm a big fan of high quality helicopters, Henseleit and X-cell machines, I think this Synergy will be right there in the race with these machines. Even the finish on these parts look beautiful and there is nothing better than having parts availably right here in the US The kit price is much better than both the TDR and other new 90 helis (Whiplash etc)

My kit just shipped, can't wait to do the build, I will post lots of pictures!
