Cool.............now it is a sticky. Thanks Finless, I was worried I would not find it again if I wanted to make another for my mCP X when I get it. I can never seem to find anything when I use the search function. First time I found this was through a link on another forum and I had to go back there to find it the secound time cause search did not do me any good.
Back to our regularly scheduled program.............. |

They don't appear to be a template of any kind, just an image as far as I can tell. He needs to convert them to a pdf.

just resize them so that the scales in inch or mm fit reality, add the folding / cutting lines, if you need ... print out .... done

Anyone experienced a bad crash with one of these on?How do these hold up in a crash? Does it provide adequate protection for the main board? Seems like a great idea even if I have to replace it after each crash, just don't want to break any electronics. My stock canopy just broke so I am thinking of giving it a try, already have one printed out, does not look to bad even in black and white.

I am crashing regularly and severely!
I have NOT broken my main board or any electronics. I have broken the arms off the frame, but that is a problem with the stock canopy as well. The advantages with the paper canopy are:
I will post a picture of my original canopy (many, many crashes) a little later today... Happy Flying! |

Pics of my abused paper canopy...you can see the wrinkle at the nose from being bashed in.
The marks on the canopy are water/mud marks from flying over wet grass... The worst part is always the bottom by where the canopy slams into the landing gear in a crash. I usually put clear tape over this edge to strengthen/repair it... And I have not broken any landing skids (yet). Probably about time to print another canopy though. Happy Flying! |

Glad I found this place. Having a ball making canopies. Just what I needed for indoor flying at the Golf Dome. Get 6 or 7 of these in the air at one time, it gets a little interesting sorting out who is who. Make a bunch so you can change up if need be.

Awesome work guys. I made a custom Red Bull canopy, trying to pattern it after the Red Bull F1 car. I'm pretty happy with how it came out though my glue job kind of sucked
Anybody else done any custom designs they can share? Also, are you guys using grommets? I'm having trouble with the canopy blowing off the supports. -Merit |
