I have done all the balancing and checking I can think of so now I have parts coming to replace the shaft and hub and thrust bearings to see if it makes a difference even though they are straight. The play you say on the hub where it slides on the shaft should be gone when the set screw is tightened so how will locktite help? Do I check before tightening it or for slight movement after the screw is set?

Even with setscrew it can wobble.

Ok thanks for the info, I just checked mine and it is nice and tight. Entire tail balanced on a high point balancer, rechecked bearings and regreased thrust bearings, checked shaft with dial indicator and it is true. what else to check? I have new shafts, hubs, and blades coming to try that but I am not sure it is the problem also new shaft bearings. What else should I be looking at that? Tail is quite smooth without blades but when blades are installed it vibrates and my vbar picks it up with high vibration.

Okay I can tell you are OCD, get you some Rotortech 115's and it will go down. Spin it up without mains and tail rod disconnected so you can tell where it's coming from. The F3C boom. Support brace also helped.

HaHa OCD, ya probably but my main concern is I keep getting mostly high vib and extreme vibe in the vbar instead of good health and it is in the tail. Without blades it has no vibs but with blades it has high vibs. Heli flies pretty good and If I didnt get constant high vib warnings I would just fly it the way it is.

Yea ditch the blades, green locktite the hub to the tail shaft and the vibs will go down. Been there done that.

Are the bolts that come with the plastic 600n tail ok to use on the 700e or is everyone upgrading them also?

I did not upgrade the Bolts, but I would recommend upgrading them.

Reason: I want to see if the Plastic Tail holds up with stock bolts, so far 40 flights.
My theory is it's not the bolts that are the problem but rather the metal grips putting undue lateral stress on the bolts. The plastic flexes so not so rough on them.

However I am not willing to tell others not to upgrade them as it is my unproven theory...

Default New heading/ topic

How about adding a topic for Align motor running very hot. I still have not got mine under control, seems to be a common question on this forum. BTW I've messed with the settings on my HV160, adjusted the pinion, and finally put a big vent ( used a screen to make it look good) in the front of the canopy. Still blazing hot when I get down. I'm just living with it, but might be some good inout out there...

I live in Dallas ( read the blast furnace ) so I feel the pain. I can't hold my finger on it for more then a second. I do not have anything to measure the actual temp. There several threads on this forum with people having similar problems, I though it would be a good fit for this thread.

+\- 12, I am not exactly great at collective management either. But it even gets hot doing an easy pattern type flight. I'm just out of ideas, I guess I will live with it till the motor burns up and try a different one. It could be it's not getting as hot as I think, but it sure feels hot. I'm sure the vent I cut will be more effective in cooler weather, the current blow torch weather here in Texas is brutal. Also, I run the slant gear with the stock motor mount so can't jack with mesh too much.

Default Re: Problems and Solutions Summarized

I just purchased a 700 Pro DFC what is mandatory. This way I can purchase and install the parts to make my heli smoother as well as prevent from issues.

The one thing I am changing is the FBL system and replacing with the SK 720 Black Edition. Any advice is much appreciated.

Wow this is a pretty old thread! Wondering how much of this still applies to the current version of the 700X?
