Default X 50b FBL upgrade

Hi everyone...
I just ordered the factory fbl convertion for my x50b
today, Im flying it flybared with a futaba gy 701 gyro with governor built in... with futaba 3305 for cyclic (someone says that are too slow) and bls 251 in tail.
Im trying to decide which flybarless controler to pick for it..
First of all... Do you really think that will worth to upgrade¿?
: the results that i would like to see are faster cyclic response lees pyro drift, and win some more headspeed for the less drag of the flybar to get overall better 3d performance...
Im choosing beetwen AR7200BX because i use spectrum tx and keep the 701 for governor without the gyro sensor...
On the other side, Im tempted to try out the new spartan vortex vx1 because I been reading some good comments for happy users they tell about the speed and locked in feeling that im looking for.
Hope you understand my rusty english...
cheers from argentina

Either FBL controller will be good for you to start out with.

I flew the MB for 3 years, it's a nice unit and easy to learn and tune. I had it on an X50B, which was my 3rd and final nitro bird. It flew very well on the factory FBL conversion head.

I switched to Spartan for a different feel, experience, and more ways to tune it.

You can't go wrong with either unit.

And what you think about my futabas 3305??...
should I change it for faster ones to get faster reponse and get the best out of the fbl control unit?or will it works anyways?

everyone feel free to comment every advice are really welcome

0.25 on 4.8V looks a bit slow to me. Did you consider Savox SC-1258?

I did´n consider anyone yet...
but the savox look very promising and good value ...
but.. do you think with just the convertion I will see an improvement or will be the same?
and do you think that the spartan vortex will worth the extra money?
thanks again

I agree on the speed being slow. I would shoot for something .12 or better.

As far as the Vortex being worth it, that's up to the person using it. You can't go wrong with a MB or BX for a first try into FBL. Vortex is the newest high quality FBL controller on the market. Both have setup videos to help guide you along, as well as dedicated forums on HeliFreak if you have any questions.

I don't know much about FBL units. I plan to get Thunder Tiger's GT5 for my FBL project, but that is in not close future so it may change. It looks promising and affordable. But like i said this is very wild hint as i have zero experience with it. Just thought maybe you are not aware it exists

I just purchased a set of three Savöx SC-1258's for cyclic (First time for Savox). I am going to try them out this weekend. From just getting the heli up in the air in my front yard they feel really good.

I usually run DS610's and they have the exact same specs. The exception is DS610's are coreless and the 1258's are brushed.

I have got a gt5 in my mini titan e325 v2 fbl...
IMO is good overall but a little too sensitive to vibration, and when something mecanical dont go smooth as silk its tilt on spool up; and in a nitro could be a issue... but I know there´s an upgrade from mine called gt5.1, that should be better in vibration inmunity but i want to try something diferent to compare.

I plan to get the fbl controller and servos all together and change all at once...

Update!
Today Im starting the upgrade ...
Already have the new fbl rotor mounted and tomorrow I will start to mount and set up the ar7200bx...
I was wondering what adhesive pad should I use? the thicker white or the thinner gray with red covering?
Remember that my x50 is nitro, and I want to avoid all issues vibration related...

Not sure if the 7200BX units are coming with the 3M outdoor mounting tape or not. On a nitro bird, 2 layers of 3M 411 tape is pretty standard. It's what I used on my three nitro birds, including a Titan X50B. This was with the MB though, not the BX, so I can't say if there's a difference between the two units.

Today I was flying my x50 to test the convertion...
I have to still tuning the tail gain but overall its flies good...
The only issue that i see is when doing and autorotation and the heli is already without foward speed almost to touch the ground tilt to the left
the second auto I did it´s tilt foward ... so thats make me correct and get negative collective fast and not allowing to touch smooth like i was doing when flybared sill...
there´s some tweaking I can do to aviod this behavior?

Well I flew the heli this weekend...
I increase the stick deadband one point and raise a little the cyclic gain ..
all bad behavior on autos has gone

HI,

Just wanted to know that : Whether, The FBL head uses the same spindle shaft as the conventional flybarred head?

N just a dumb questions, what do you mean by stick deadband?
