Just purchased a very nice used Warp from my neighbor. Watched him flying it the other day and just had to have it. Just have a few questions.
It has the following installed:
Stock Compass motor
CC Phoenix Ice 50 34V 50-Amp ESC w/5-Amp BEC
MKS 95 cyclics
MKS 95i Tail
Gyro Skookum 720 (Blue)

Do I need to run an external BEC with this setup? If so any recommendations?

The Esc fits very tight and is almost too large for the space most are mounting their escs. (The space under the top tray and above the battery). It was located there, but makes the side frames bulge out. My OCD will not allow that…lol Any recommendations?

Any parts I should keep on hand? I don't plan on crashing, but lets be realistic.

Thanks

bench test to see if you can get a brownout with those MKS. I think the CC Phoenix is a pretty stout BEC. I fly a CC Phoenix 50 ICE Light with a CC Pro BEC. I just like having a separate power source for the MKS 92A+ and 95i 's that I have.

Spares to have on hand - tail boom, tail fin, landing gear, main blades, tail blades.

As I recall, the BEC in the Ice 50 (which is what I have in my Warp) will put out 5 amps on three cells, but as the cell count increases, the amperage drops.

I am running a WR 10 Amp BEC on mine now.

I'm running 3 kst ds215mgs and a rjx mini tail servo off the internal bec in the cc edge 50 just fine. Thats on my 450L

But my dad runs a cc 10a bec with same servos on his warp. He bought it used and the guy had the bec installed running cc edge lite 50 so he kept it on there. Doesn't hurt. And gives a little piece of mind.

Thanks guys.

Can you explain the bench test?

I don't mind spending a little $ for a BEC to have piece of mind to keep the warp from going down. What amp rating for the bec?

On the bench, drag both transmitter sticks to a corner and just let go at the same time, letting the sticks bounce around.

I'm assuming to disconnect the motor while doing this?

If you want to be safe about it you can.

Otherwise, just make sure its in Throttle Hold.

LOL…. I had a brain fart.

I see that I can get a CC pro or a WD Hercules. What specs should I be looking for.
Also, any recommendations on mounting the CC Phoenix Ice 50 34V 50-Amp ESC w/5-Amp BEC?

I'm using the ICE Lite 50A mounted on the side frame exterior all the way forward. And I'm using a WR High Current BEC mounted between the frames under the radio tray.

Regarding the ICE 50, you can pull the heatsink and grind it down a bit then reinstall it, or, just pull it and turn it into an ICE 50 Lite.

I would def run a separate BEC though. I'm running the BEC Pro with the case pulled, and I've got it shoe horned under the RX tray with the ICE 50 Lite. Tight fit.

Thanks for the BEC info.
What connector do you like for the warp electronics? (Deans, xt60, ec3)
