About to start building my protos, is FBL low hub worth getting? What are advantages except cool look?
Is majority of screws 2 mm?
Thanks!

Just installed mine, and its just a cleaner setup than using the stock hub.

I like the looks, but I dont see any changes in how the heli feels/flys.

I think in theory there will be less pendulum effect leading to a quicker responding heli. In reality...I'm debating the $35 and I think a cleaner looking heli. How 'bout some pics with it installed?

I can tell you it's very nice, plus you get rid of the plastic washout base.

Got it, mounted, definitely worth getting if you go FBL.

For those that switched... Did you go through and set up your FBL unit again or just set up zero pitch and fly?

Yep, just got the zero back in the middle and go.

Speaking of setup, I discovered something new today. That holograph looking tape that comes with the kit blades makes for excellent tracking tools. Previously I eyeballed the tracking with the heli in hand and it looked spot-on. Today in bright sunshine the holograph tape showed 2 lines on the disk...it was 1/2 turn on the links out. Cool stuff, gotta get some more to better track my other helis

Where did you put the tape on your blades? The cutouts are such a weird size and I just could not figure out where they intended them to go.

Thanks for the info on the setup.

Heh, I goofed up on the first sticker on the first go around when origionally getting the kit with the 325's. Getting the stretch kit with new blades and a study of the SAB website clued me in. Here's how it's supposed to look:

I did find the remains of the origional sticker sheet...good material for temporary use to track some of my multibladers that are somewhat tough to do . Nice well-defined bright line in the sun which is assumably the leading edge or right near it

1/2 turn on the link? I thought these link were supposed to go one way, so no 1/2 turn possible.

By the way, anyone heard about titanium turn-buckles which would work with mini protos?

Yeah, they should go one way only. "MSH" letters should be facing outwards.

Technically they are one-way only...but you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes. Turnbuckles would be the 'proper' way to get the adjustment range you need, but 1/2 turns work just as well in a pinch, just a little harder to get the links on depending on the link design

Yup, that's right I might go with a half turn too, if there was the need, since msh links are well made. I'd be scared to death to do the same on a 450 T-rex though.

I wouldn't do it personally. Popping links during flight it's much worse than having blade tracking a hair off, in my opinion.

Someone please find turnbuckles which work with mini protos FBL

I really doubt it will pop off in flight, it actually may be harder to pop one off with it reversed
