Default Used gear

Had a friend at work measure my head I bought used "never been crashed". It is off side to side, feathering shaft axis by about 1/2 a thousandth. Spool up that transmits into the heli. Why do people lie?
I've been using this for about two years.

it may of not been a lie,any defect from the factory, or just not assembled correctly, even the head rubbers can be worn on one side, a brand new head will sometimes be off,and use will greatly speed a defect up

That is true and I'm kinda hopin that it is the case. I've been burned with other used gear here. Misled I guess is a kinder word. The money I care nothing about its all the time I've put into this obsession. Should I get it right I'll celebrate.
edit;
Yesterday with a runout gauge and the grips attached to a center mount we found the two grip arms on one of the grips are not parallel to the axis of the hole for the feathering shaft. The other grip is true. Rather than bend and lose a heli perhaps I've got a new FBL head coming.
