Default T-Rex 500 ESP Servo Arm Ball Linkage Position?

Hi Guys,
Re: T-Rex 500 ESP Servo Arm Ball Link Position?
The manual for the T-Rex 500 ESP places the ball 19.5mm from the centre of the servo arm.
Finless Bob has a Video which discusses "Why the link geometry is as it is" and specifies 16.0mm but that is for the earlier T-Rex 500 CF.

Can any one offer an opinion based on personal experience of flying the 500 ESP?

Hi Tony.
I would go with the manual. Like the old saying puts it, If all else fails read the FN book. It really does apply to most things. I have the older GF frame 500 and they are set at 16mm from center. Then again we are only talking 3.5 mm. If that setting is causing the swash to bind in the corners then it is a simple matter to change the hole to the 16mm. No damage done either way.

Taken from the Slyster Trex Bible: From Finless on servo link from center "I am going to say it again.... I think it is a misprint in the manual. 19.5m is just TOO far away and limits servo resolution to much AND jacks up geometry too much. Take it or leave it but the FIRST years worth of kits, all the pilots are running 16.5"

I agree that 19.5 meters is way too far, but I'm thinking that 16.5 inches is going to be too long also...

Sorry, you just gave that one to me, I had to take it!

What is the Slyster Trex Bible?

How about some details of your T-Rex 500 ESP FBL, including the length of servo arms?

Slyster site for the Trex 500 is somewhat dated but there are some nuggets of value. http://www.slyster.com/heli/trex500bible.html

I'm sitting at 16.5mm on cyclics and close to 10mm on the rudder gyro.
I have been able to get the recommended setups for both Beastx and Vbar at these settings so I stayed with them.

[QUOTE=Epoweredrc;7012058]sorry... this is for a 500 not a 600

On the Trex 500 ESP:

16.5mm will work just great without reducing the value for swash mix.
19.5mm brings extreme response on maneuvers, even when reducing swash mix and giving some exponential.
