I got the pro, they don't make one for the esp. I had to pull the end off, cut it to fit, and superglue the end back on.

I just zip tied a 2mm carbon rod to the ESP steel rod. Looks a little tacky but works great. No need to remove ends from the old one.

2mm hollow cf rod and slide the metal one though it? or do you mean actually side by side and zip together? Wouldn't that really look crappy? Can you take a pic at all for me, Im trying to picture it.lol
So you can take the 2 boom guides off then by doing this?

I didn't because I didn't feel it was necessary. Whichever method you use, I'd still use the pro pushrod guide (comes with pro cf pushrod kit). You go from 2 guides to 1 and you don't have to shim the guide with zip tie section. |

I take the original pushrod, install it on top of a CF rod with CA and heat shrink tubing. Put the heat shrink over the pushrod and CF rod, drip some CA glue into it and hit it with a heat gun. I make 3 small sections @ about 2 inches each (one on each end and one in the middle).

Mine are mounted side by side. ya it looks tacky, but quick and easy. No need for the two guides.

I just added some super glue to the rod and slid the CF rod over the wire. No guides needed and use the same setup for both my 450 and 500.

Thanks Solmanbandit. I did the exact same as you. CF tube over the rod with CA glue. Went for some flights this morning. Works great and looks good to. Didnt change the feel or performance of the tail. Thought I mite have noticed something.
Oh well looks good anyway and for $7 for 2 bits of tube cant go wrong.

I have used this setup to make custom tail rods for all my helis from 450 to 700:
http://www.centralhobbies.com/contro...e/pushrod2.htm For 500 I use the 1/8 rod with 2.5mm ends.
