Default Manual calls for 'general' and 'special' threadlock. Also two types of "tight screw"

In the X5 manual, there is a legend showing the symbols.

There are 4 very closely related symbols:
  • Apply general thread lock to tight screw
  • Apply special thread lock to tight screw
  • Apply general thread lock, be certain to tight screw and apply thread lock
  • Apply special thread lock, be certain to tight screw and apply thread lock
Each of these has a separate icon (attached). Does anyone know the specifics of this?

I just used normal blue thread lock, but made sure to throw the screws into some acetone first to make sure any oils are off. I never put red loctite on anything, personally. In my helis the only place I've had screws back out is the boom supports, so I keep an eye on those.

I used blue everywhere too. Not a problem at all.

blue everywhere. only gaui gotcha I know about is if you dont use the shortest screws for where the frame attaches to the upper bearing block right at the bearing it can somehow make the bearing feel notchy.

FYI, I got the definitive answer directly from Gaui.

The 4 pictures and descriptions mean the same thing, they were just translated by different people. That is funny

問題諮詢>Question about X5 manual regarding threadlock icons

Dear Ryan :

Thanks for writing to Gaui.

These 4 descriptions on the manual are refering the same thing, just translated by different people at the different time.

It's our fault. We will make our manuals with same way on description.
Thank you.

Best Regards,

Suca Lai

Use blue 243 everywhere apart from the motor pinion which needs red IMHO.

Gaui ships the head with red but blue works fine.

wow, I'm pretty sure they mentioned "special threadlock" everytime it needed to be stronger than the blue (don't have the manual beside me to check), but I use green loctite on the boom supports and head and anywhere else it says special threadlock.
Green on 3mm screws isn't usually a problem like on smaller screws, i.e. they unscrew without having to use a blowtorch lol
