I got one on my NX4 kit but didn't realize it at the time. Unfortunately I messed up the brass bushing while taking the slider apart to make sure it wasn't too tight. I can't find anyone that stocks those parts or the thicker bushing (it's 7mm O.D. instead of 6mm)
Counting on the US distributor to bring stuff in is an exercise in frustration sometimes. |

I'm sure I don't need it, but dammit, I want my s&!# to be "extra strong".

I can't seem to find any of those 'super' strong ones on stock....
This blows, I do not need any part on my heli only strong enough for 'beginner flight'...

Today my pitch slider failed. The heli spun out of control and crashed. $100 worth of replacement parts.
I did a quick search on X5 pitch slider failure and got quite a few hits. Evidently, Gaui has recognized this problem and offers an extra strong version 208388-X5 CNC Extra Strong Tail Pitch Slider Set(for 5mm tail output shaft)In the 208388, the brass bushing is thicker and therefore stronger, but no other part of the slider has been changed. And, it's not available in the U.S. The upgraded brass bushing is available separately---though I don't see it listed on any U.S. sites. I just received an email from Dave Mullen at anythingheli.com pointing out that the best tail slider for the Gaui X5 is Gaui's Dual Push Tail Pitch Slider Set (SKU: 935002). It's expensive: $70. But its design is clearly superior. Both the stock 208369 and "extra strong" 208388 slider introduce a twisting force by having the attachment ball on one side of the slider. I suspect that this design also makes these sliders prone to impact damage. The 935002 is available at anythingheli.com. I just ordered it. It’s interesting that my Blade 450X, Gaui X3, and Goblin 570 all employ the dual push system used by the 935002. Only my stock X5 does not.

I finally got around to replacing the failed pitch slider on my Gaui X5 FES with the Gaui X5 Dual Push Tail Pitch Slider Set (SKU: 935002).
But I soon realized that this installation requires the CNC Tail Gear Case---not the stock case. Wow. This ended up being an expensive crash caused by a part failure. $69 for the slider + $61 for the CNC case plus the $85 for parts lost in the crash = $215 !
