Default Nano CP X Soft Start

I discovered today that if I flip it out of TH while in idle up (100% throttle), it has a nice slow soft start.

Yeah I noticed that too

What's weird is that it doesn't work if you're not in idle up. Flip TH off with the stick halfway up in normal mode and you get a distinctly 'hard' start.

The 130x has a soft start around 68%+ throttle to use for starting in idle up.

There is a certain point in the TC where the soft start is activated by the ESC, if
the throttle starts high enough, AFAIK.
This is to allow soft starts and normal mode starts (I switch between the two methods on my Nano).

Hey guys I've never tried the "soft start" so you are saying I put TH on then flip the idle up switch to stunt mode then I put the collective stick in the center? And then turn off TH and it will spool up softly. ??? Do I have that right. Cause one time I has the collective stick one quarter the way up and turned off TH and almost stripped my main gear. She spooled up like a bat out if hell. Lol ( in normal mode). How do I sift start normal mode if possible too? Thanks

Yes you have it correct. Never tried soft start in normal mode as I just don't fly in normal mode at all.

If the heli sees anything less than about 70% throttle soft start will not work. When you turn off TH in norm 1/4 stick the heli "sees maybe 40% and it will fast start directly to that percentage..

So your saying I need to put the throttle at 70 0/0 or higher to soft start?

I don't believe it's as high as 70%, but yes. Coming out of throttle hold with less than a certain throttle percentage results in a hard start, and above that percentage a soft start. The recommended throttle for Position 1 ("Stunt mode") is well above whatever that percentage is.

Idling up takes several seconds, during which the heli yaws. Wait for "rudder" commands until it is completely spun up, or the AS3X will slowly yaw the heli in flight.

Just flip it out of throttle hold in stunt, rather than normal.

Default No

Throttle stick at 0
Turn off throttle hold and turn on idle up switch.
The helicopter will begin spooling up, move the collective to mid stick and let the motor
come to flying speed, fly as normal.

Land,

Turn on throttle hold to shut it down!
Return collective to zero throttle position!
Turn off idle up switch.

This works for me every time:

Switch DX8 on and let it initialise
TH on
Throttle/Pitch centered
FM switch to IU2 (2)
Plug in Nano battery
TH off, wait for full revs and then fly

Land, center Throttle/Pitch
TH on
Unplug Nano battery
FM switch to Norm (0)
Throttle/Pitch at 0
TH off
Switch off DX8
